The Architecture Institute of Japan (AIJ) was established in 1951, and ever since it has been leading for both academia and practice. The City Planning Institute of Japan (CPIJ) was established in 1951, and ever since it has been leading for both academia and practice. Over 600 reviewers review papers, and acceptance rate is around 40-50%.

JHED (Journal of Habit Engineering and Design) is issued by the first cross- disciplinary researcher’s network, ISHED (International Society of Habitat Engineering and Design), and established by the top ranked universities in Asia: architecture, urban design, landscape, architecture engineering in mechanical and structure in 2011. Peer-reviewed Conference Proceedings

ACSA (The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, membership association founded in 1912 to advance the quality of architectural education. The school membership in ACSA has grown from 10 charter members to over 250 schools in several membership categories. These include full membership for all accredited programs in the United States and government-sanctioned schools in Canada, candidate membership for schools seeking accreditation, and affiliate membership for schools for two-year and international programs. Through these schools, over 5,000 architecture faculties are represented. In addition, over 500 supporting members composed of architecture firms, product associations and individuals add to the breadth of interest and support of ACSA goals.

APSA (The Asian Planning Schools Association) is a non-profit and non-political association that aims at providing opportunities for scholars and planners to discuss issues related to planning, to exchange opinions and understand problems of planning in Asian countries, and to foster new generations of academics and professional planners in Asia. 1st International congress was held in Tokyo in 1991, and has held the international congress every two years.

ISUF (International Seminar on Urban Form) is the international organization of urban form for researchers and practitioners. It was inaugurated in 1994, bringing together urban morphologists worldwide. It seeks to advance research and practice in fields concerned with the built environment. Members are drawn from several disciplines, including architecture, geography, history, sociology and town planning.

Koichiro Aitani usually teaches two courses each semester at Texas A&M University. His courses are in the multidisciplinary areas of Architecture (ARCH) with a focus on Architectural Design and Urban Design.

Application of verbal, graphic, research, critical thinking and fundamental design skills to architectural projects that emphasize the integration of structural, environmental, life safety, building envelope systems, and building service systems; includes code compliance, resource conservation, cost control and economic analysis. Seminar in Urban Design for Architect; investigation of the creative role of architectural ideas in the design process and their manifestation of successful urban design; the identification and evaluation of urban design examples that are at the leading edge of architectural practice and anticipate the future; consideration of neighboring, local, region level, as well as the social and economic factors that influence urban form and fabric; discussion of the works and writings and the case study of livable urban design.
