Le c h u z a A fantastic match-up this afternoon between Audi and Lechuza. At left (photo by Sergio Polite) is Hall of Famer Gonzalo Pieres enjoying the moment at Palermo last December as his sons Gonzalito and Facundo just won the Argentine Open for Ellerstina, defeating three times defending champion La Dolfina. Gonzalito and Facundo’s teammate with Ellerstina is Juan Martin Nero, below left, who was just raised to 10 goals in . Wednesday in the semifinals, Juan Martin Nero showed a lot of poise and finesse handing Pony Express a 1-7 deficit in the second and winning 14-7. Nero is quiet on the horse, very accurate with the mallet and has some of the magic Gonzalo Pieres Sr. displayed in the 80’s and 90’s.
