It was chosen for the lovely colours and beauty combined with his great selection of plants of different shapes and sizes. Usually the Prize goes to Derek and Yvonne Daw, or their neighbours, Joyce and Eric Wright who both have beautiful gardens; so it was good to have a new rival at the other end of the village. SKY WATCH On Monday, August 21st 2017, a total solar eclipse was visible within a band across the entire contiguous United States passing from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast. We were promised a partial solar eclipse in the UK. However, due to cloud cover we were unable to see anything in Cottesbrooke.
