Public television started on October 2th 1951. There came a tv decision in where it was arranged that television-broadcasters need a license. Broadcasts had to make sure that the safety of The State and the public policy were not harmed. Broadcasts could be taken by the minister. For the transmission time de NTS came alive. In the first Televisonnota was arranged that only broadcasters within the cooperation of the NTS were allowed to broadcast. The televisiondescion of 1956 made sure that the NTS had their own licence to create the overall program. They got a minimum of 25% of the total broadcasting time. They also got the taks of the government to create neutral programmes such as ‘Het Journaal’ and sports. (OverNPO, 2016) In 1960 all of the big broadcasters had between de 400.00-500.000 The NTS stands for ‘Nederlandse Televisie Stichting’ and was the first Dutch television broadcaster and was the precursor of the current NPO and foundation NTR. The NTS was created on May 31th 1951 by the broadcasters AVRO, KRO, NCRV and VARA. -

Het betreft de zenders NPO 1 Extra, NPO 2 Extra, NPO Zappelin Extra. NLZIET is momenteel de enige tv-aanbieder, die deze zenders op hoge beeldkwaliteit aanbiedt. Kijkers kunnen hierdoor op NLZIET vanaf 25 december de Top 2000 op NPO Extra 1 in verbeterde beeldkwaliteit live meekijken. De themazender NPO 1 Extra biedt doorgaans programma’s uit het rijke archief van de NPO, met een accent op !lms en series. Op NPO Zappelin Extra worden tv-programma’s voor kinderen tot 12 jaar uitgezonden, waaronder Buurman en Buurman, Tik Tak, Teletubbies en Sesamstraat. De live en replaystreams van de twaalf hoofdkanalen op NLZIET zijn ook onlangs verhoogd naar Full HD 1080. Onder deze hoofdkanalen vallen NPO 1, NPO 2, NPO 3, RTL 4, RTL 5, RTL 7, RT L8 en RTL Z, SBS6, Veronica, Net5 en SBS9. Mobiele devices (smartphones en tablets) houden momenteel HD 720-beeldkwaliteit. TV Formats in Europe Given the prolonged advertising recession and the fact that several major titles have peaked, the TV formats market in Europe is showing remarkable resilience. The value created by the top 100 formats was $2,931 million in 2013 for 84 European channels across the 16 territories and 21 distributors, according to the TV Formats in Europe report. The 2013 figure was 3.3% down on the 2012 total, but up on 2011. The number of hours broadcast reached 28,386 in 2013, nearly the same as 2012. The UK is the TV formats leader in Europe – just ahead of France. The value created by formats for UK broadcasters was $600 million in 2013, down from $677 million in 2012. France recorded $599 million in 2013, up from $547 million in 2012. The UK, France, Germany and Italy accounted for 72% of Europe’s total value created in 2013. The top 10 broadcasters accounted for two-thirds of the total value created in Europe for 2013 – which means that the remaining third was shared by 74 channels. France’s TF1 ($332 million) led the pack again, followed by Italy’s Rai 1 and the UK’s BBC1. The total number of hours broadcast in Europe for the 100 formats was 28,386 in 2013; very close to 2012. The UK was the leader again, despite its 2013 total (3,935) being considerably lower than in 2012 (4,623). Romania took third place, having added 645 hours to its total in 2013.
