I am honored to recognize and celebrate your achievements on this very special day. On behalf of the Michigan Ross faculty and staff, congratulations on earning your degree and reaching this incredible milestone. You have studied hard and put in countless hours, inside and outside the classroom, to get to this point. You have tackled real-world challenges with passion and perseverance, and made meaningful contributions to organizations both near and far. You have participated in student clubs, supported community events, excelled in extracurriculars — all while juggling the demands of a rigorous curriculum. And for that you should be extremely proud! While your time as Ross students has come to an end, it is the beginning of life as Michigan Ross alumni. You are now part of one of the largest and most esteemed alumni networks in the world — more than 50,000 Ross graduates in 108 countries. It is a special bond that unites our family. You are purpose-driven leaders who are defining the next frontiers of business, shaking up the status quo, and making a positive difference in society. Our alumni are known for being high-achieving with bold aspirations, the first to help others and collaborate to overcome challenges, and deeply committed to the Block M. I encourage you to stay connected to your Michigan Ross family as you embark on the next chapter in your lives. No words can express how grateful we are for our time with you. This past academic year, Christina served as the student body president of the BBA program, through which she worked to make the school more inclusive and help clubs best serve the community. During her time at Ross, she was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, APEX Consulting Group, and a Career Development Office Peer Coach. After graduation, she will be moving to New York City to work in consulting and hopes to eventually attend law school with a focus in constitutional law. Christina would like to thank the Ross community for giving her a home inside such a large university, and her family and friends for supporting her these past four years! BBA 7 ADRIENNE ROSE // BBA ’19 Adrienne grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania but always dreamed of attending the University of Michigan. During her time at Ross, she was involved with TAMID — a Ross consulting and investment club — and the Michigan Advertising and Marketing Club. Adrienne is also the founder of her own company, “ShoeU”, where she designs and sells personalized, hand-drawn shoes. After graduation, Adrienne will put her emphases in finance and strategy to use at American Express in New York City, where she previously interned as a finance analyst. BEN BATTAGLIA // MBA ’19 J. Benjamin “Ben” Battaglia is graduating with a focus on corporate strategy and operations management. During his time at Ross, he served as a vice president of the Part-Time Students Association. Ben began his career at Young Life, an international nonprofit dedicated to youth mentorship. He now works as the director of marketing at Lessonly, a software company that helps businesses learn and practice. He also served as the editor of Do Better Work, a book by Max Yoder about building healthier teams and workplaces. Ben received a B.A. from Northwestern University, with studies in political science, international studies, and integrated marketing communications. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Sarah, and daughters, Annie and Margot. 9 STUDENT AWARDS CLASS OF 2019 RECOGNITION AWARDS Student award recipients were selected by their graduating peers for being exemplary role models who display continuous dedication to the Ross School of Business. THE FRANK S. MORAN DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP AWARDS are presented to two graduating students who have made outstanding contributions to improve the business school experience for students, staff, and faculty, and have been active in all aspects of the Michigan Ross community. One award is given to a student in a graduate program, and another award is given to a BBA student. Both are supported by a special endowment honoring Frank Sullivan Moran. Frank Moran was not just a successful business leader, he was also a philosopher and educator who cared deeply about helping people. THE ROSS GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS are presented annually to graduating
