With a Rolls-Royce Meteor V12 600 horsepower engine and the Christie Suspension, the Cromwell tank could potentially reach speeds of 40 mph and up. Unfortunately, at those speeds the suspensions didn’t last very long. Operational tank models were electronically limited to 32 mph which was still entirely fast enough to do end runs around lumbering German tanks and hit the fanks hard.
