In this edition, we sat down with Roberto Colonetti, the renowned “porcelain artist” at European Ceramics in Perth, Western Australia. Born and raised in Italy, Colonetti began his career at Colonetti SNC Of Colonetti Claudio And Sons in Borgo di Terzo, Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy, where worked with natural stone as a CNC and waterjet operator for 22 years. Recently, he published his own book, the Colonetti System Technical Manual, which describes his particular method of porcelain fabrication for integrated sinks.

Eating and drinking is a celebratory and social act, which can have a more formal character — eating sitting at a table where you are served — or informally, where you choose what you want to eat.” Capella worked closely with the client, ThinkFoodGroup, the company behind José Andrés’ group of restaurants, which has a mission “to change the world through the power of food.” “José Andrés, who has become a great ambassador for Spanish food in America, has been the great international promoter of ‘tapas,’ and in this place, he was very clear about what he wanted,” Capella explained. “Not only was he involved, but he directed and supervised the whole process. The creative indoor-outdoor design, crafted by local architectural firm, Bolivar Arquitectos, is sleek and minimal, accentuated by clever contours and unexpected material choices, which help make the 17,600-square foot, single-family home extraordinary. For one of the condos on Williams Island, local designer, Alena Capra, CMKBD, of Alena Capra Designs, was enlisted to create a more expansive bathroom, which replaced the smaller, existing one. “The client wanted to create more storage by eliminating a small shower and making a larger shower in the space of the old tub,” the designer explained. “Since it is a condo, we had to consider the fact that the fixtures cannot be easily moved around.
