Meet the Captains Name: Jenny Grace Age: 25 Club: Burgess-Duharra Position: Half forward or midfield What has been the hardest thing about lockdown? I actually found lockdown enjoyable. I was able to build myself up to run 10k. What do you enjoy the most about being back? Meeting people, the craic and the intensity of the game. How did you stay motivated during the lockdown? I suppose you knew things were eventually going to happen so you had to stay tipping away. What are you looking forward to the most? Playing camogie for the Summer. We've been away from it for so long it's great to be back at it. What are your aspirations for the year ahead? Win that All Ireland medal. @CamogieTipp @officialtipperarycamogie Official Tipperary Camogie Meet the Captains Name: Ciara Donohue Age: 26 Club: Mullagh Position: Backs What has been the hardest thing about lockdown? Not being able to see family and friends. Staying within 5k of Mullagh doesn’t get you too far either! What do you enjoy the most about being back? Definitely the social aspect of it. Getting to see everyone’s faces again and train with them a is massive boost. How did you stay motivated during the lockdown? Aoife and I were both lucky we had each other to train with. We knew we would hopefully be back at some stage so we wanted to be ready for that and just took it week by week. What are you looking forward to the most? We missed out on championship last year, so getting back to playing competitive matches again will be great! What are your aspirations for the year ahead? To try and get back to where we were in 2019. Galway Camogie @GalwayCamogie96 @officialgalwaycamogie www.camogie.ie Official Camogie Association @OfficialCamogie @officialcamogie OfficialCamogie .

iCAN: Group Updates March 2021 Hi everyone, Here are the updates from our groups across the network, listed in alphabetical order. Abbey & District Heritage Group, Co Galway Researching other websites – very good material on the Wicklow site Learning from the wide variety of suggestions coming from Lorna Time spent on Zoom and on-line training Upskilling on genealogy - Eileen Main project for this year is having an old Irish book written about the south-east Galway area and first published in 1932 translated into English and Modern Irish. Work is proceeding well on this and translation has been completed. We have proof-read the first draft and are now consulting with the designer and publisher as we hope to have the book published later in the year. Clarecastle & Ballyea Heritage & Wildlife Group, Co. Clare Historian Skills with Tomás Mac Conmara - over 4 weeks - interesting and enjoyable but found the sessions a bit too long on Zoom (Eric) Facebook/Instagram training with Hassan. – interesting, but a bit too much on the theory and workings of the two media. A practical user workshop would be of benefit especially to hear from people in the iCAN community who make great use of ocial media - (Eric) Trinkets or Treasure by Gillian O'Brien - interesting talk and I have followed up with a few items directly with Gillian (Eric & Catherine) Through my involvement with Clare Roots Society, I arranged for Jane Halloran Ryan, Chairperson of CRS, to give a talk on Genealogy to the iCAN Group. We have engaged with Hassan on how to upload an Illustrated Timeline for the Clarecastle & Ballyea Parish over the past 12,000 years overlaid on a live map.
