Works in Progress Sound and Power from Burma to Myanmar. •This book explores the role of sound/music in the negotiations of political, ethnic and religious identities in late 20th -early 21st century Myanmar.

“Dhamma Gita: Buddhist and secular musical fusion in Myanmar” •Investigation into lay Buddhist musical activity.

“The Sounds of Buddhism” •A soundscape study of Buddhist monasteries and pagodas in Burma/Myanmar

“The Burmese Guitar” •This piece examines the Burmese adaptations to the slide guitar with special attention to tunings, playing style and relations to the Burmese canon. Planned submission to the journal Asian Music

“U Khin Zaw and the Construction of an Official Burmese Music Theory” •This work explores the contributions (1940-60s) made by librarian, archivist and director of the Burma Broadcasting Service, U Khin Zaw in formulating a coherent theory of Burmese music.
