The rpa:group Project Management team worked alongside our Architecture team on Oscar de la Renta’s first UK store in Mayfair London. The brand has an international reputation for providing chic high end fashion and now has stores in 14 locations around the globe. The 430 m2 fit out was undertaken over a four month period at a cost of £1.4 million.

The space included a vast amount of period detailing and involved the inclusion of an existing staircase to the upper floors and the installation of a new staircase which linked the ground and basement areas. The project was complicated by the discovery of inherent building defects and all works undertaken to remedy these were overseen by rpa:group without delay to the programme.

Aurum Holdings tasked rpa:group with managing the construction and brand installation of their new Watches of Switzerland stores in London’s Canary Wharf and Oxford Street.

Situated on one of the UK’s busiest business and shopping thoroughfares respectively, the luxurious interior environments feature high-end finishes such as walnut veneered panels, porcelain flooring, and a new VIP room for a truly bespoke service. Visitors to both the Canary Wharf and Oxford Street stores can expect to experience the very best in retail luxury. central market*

Designed by Sir Norman Foster, this 750,000m2 mixed use development includes a 92 storey supertall residential tower, a 60 storey office tower and a 16 storey hotel tower. It accommodates 6 levels of basement parking and 500,000m2 of retail space.

Designed by award-winning Rafael Viñoly Architects, with a $1billion build cost, the state-of-the-art campus includes 21 buildings built to the highest specifications and featuring the latest technology. This includes academic buildings, a library, theaters, indoor sports facilities, student and faculty residences, and laboratories. In addition, numerous outdoor sports facilities include pitches, a grandstand and an athletics track.

Covering 450,000m2 — and reaching a height of more than 50 meters, it was delivered in less than four years. Andy Smith, Head of Retail, World Duty Free calvin klein rpa:group was engaged to develop the design and construction of the brand’s new 550 m2 wholesale showroom in Knightsbridge. The project was a culmination of a development process that saw the environment help to launch Calvin Klein’s new European design concept – refreshing the brand image, while remaining true to the pure, natural and minimalist aesthetic of its heritage. rpa:group Project Management acted as the focal point for all involved in the scheme, working hand-in-hand with the client team and being given overall responsibility to complete the project on time and on budget. Byford is an inspirational menswear brand, founded by Donald Byford in 1919. The Project Management team at rpa:group oversaw the exciting manifestation of this heritage brand into a new menswear and accessories store in London’s Mayfair.

The challenges and peculiarities thrown up by utilising an old building in a difficult location were overcome, thanks to rpa:group’s Project Management and Design teams working harmoniously together to ensure that the high quality concept store was delivered on time and within budget. lycée francais

The Lycée francais school in London’s South Kensington, required a complete refurbishment of their canteen. The concept needed to accommodate a high traffic flow with over 2000 students to feed per sitting and required clearly defined queuing and serving areas, as well as food preparation areas and cold rooms.

Working alongside our design studio, who undertook the interiors branding development of this, our Project Management team oversaw the complete construction, cost management and delivery within very demanding time frames, as the entire project needed to commence and be successfully completed within the school’s summer vacation period. samsung

Samsung engaged the rpa:group’s Project Management team to coordinate and oversee the delivery of the new Samsung “experience” stores across the UK. All “experience” stores have a premium look and feel, with brushed metal tables and a striking and vivid colour scheme that strongly reflects Samsung’s branding.

Working closely alongside the client, we were given a 360 degree responsibility to complete the project on time and within budget, also ensuring that all 9 stores opened on the same day. adidas Y3 rpa:group was engaged to project manage the development and opening of Y3, an exciting new store for designer Yohji Yamamoto, in collaboration with leading sports brand, adidas. Located in ultra-trendy Convent Garden, in London’s West End, the store is perfectly situated to entice the range of fashion savvy customers its products are aimed at.

The existing retail unit, located in eclectic Floral Street retained a number of original features and varying volumes.The distinctive monochromatic shop fit, shelves accented with neon green and orange highlights are signature to Yohji Yamamoto. The environment showcases stunning product alongside the more recognisable footwear and accessories ranges. A gallery-like DNA encapsulates the high-concept, yet surprisingly accessible, designer apparel.

The rpa:group’s Project Management team was deployed as construction managers and health and safety advisors on this impressive project, to completely refurbish the Victorian splendour of this 19th Century Kensington mews development and to transform it into a modern and intimate 21st Century boutique hotel.

Originally four townhouses, the 90 bedroom hotel has been designed to retain its elegance while being brought up to date with structural works to include new lift shafts and modern and sophisticated amenities – transforming it into a “grown-up chic” sanctuary in the heart of London. starbucks

As part of our long-standing relationship with TK Maxx, we are assisting on a large scale expansion, with approximately 25 new stores being opened across the UK each year. The split comprises approximately 80% TK Maxx stores and 20% Homesense units.

The Project Management team is undertaking feasibility studies for each identified unit and is managing internal and external drawing resource teams during the design of appropriate layouts for each site, while also ensuring full approval by building control authorities and tracking, managing and implementing all Landlord and client changes throughout the duration of the project.

We have implemented a process that gives our client solid deadlines at each stage of the job and allows us to offer scalable and transparent progress reports for this ongoing project, expected to run till at least 2018. travis perkins

We were retained by Travis Perkins to oversee various projects under their City Plumbing Supplies brand. The works included managing both internal and external consultants and contracting teams for units between 500 sqm and 800 sqm.

Two large units underwent refurbishment in Romford and Loughborough, respectively. Both required a division into ground floor and mezzanine levels and the installation of large bathroom showrooms.

The unit at Market Harborough required a strip-out of the existing retailer and the completion of a new store fit out, which included a mezzanine level, sales floor, administration area and showroom. chelsea fc megastore

The old Chelsea FC fan store at Stamford Bridge stadium needed to be structurally redesigned to improve customer circulation and efficiency of throughput on big match days. rpa:group’s project management team was appointed site managers for the flagship megastore to take its place.

Delivered in just 8 weeks, the completely reconfigured Chelsea FC Superstore covers over 900 square metres of retail space on two floors, with two new customer staircases and passenger lift.

It is heavily focused on providing a unique customer experience, with a bank of 20 pay points to help facilitate rapid payment. There is extensive use of touch screen technology, with a special print shop and personalised tour photo viewing points, as well as display cabinets for Chelsea’s trophies and festival sized screens showing footage of key Chelsea matches.

goldsmiths boutique rpa:group oversaw the project management for a series of concept stores for Aurum Holding’s Boutique brand. Located across the UK, each individual store required the delivery of a concept design, evolving around their unique shop front, with double height fully glazed windows a feature in some of the stores.

Uniquely, the Southampton store saw the new Boutique concept being simultaneously incorporated with another of the Aurum brands, Goldsmiths, into one retail space. carphone warehouse

Year on year the Carphone Warehouse brand has consistently grown and developed into one of the UK and Ireland’s most popular destinations for both mobile and tablet purchases. Working closely with our client and their internal property division, the rpa:group Project Management team oversaw the design and construction of numerous new stores and renovation projects, totalling nearly 400 stores throughout the UK and Ireland.

Budgets ranged between £100k and £350k for new store projects, and between £15k and £80k for renovation projects. All schemes, designs and supply chains were in constant development, with the rpa:group undertaking a consistent value engineering approach to ensure that our client’s value for money was maintained at all project stages. kronometry 1999

Kronometry 1999, the exclusive timepiece retailer, assigned rpa:group to project manage and oversee the design and construction of their European Flagship Store in London’s New Bond Street.

The rpa:group Project Management team worked to a budget of approximately £1 million to transform a space of 180 m2, into the first of Kronometry 1999’s stores to be opened outside of and marked the beginning of the retailer successfully developing and growing their market presence internationally.

The Hummingbird Bakery, purveyor of handmade american style cupcakes, pies and brownies, tasked rpa:group with project managing and overseeing the design and construction of two vibrant and eye-catching stores in London’s trendy Spitalfields and Islington respectively.

The project budget for Spitalfields was approximately £500k and covered an impressive 200 m2 and the Islington store’s budget was in the region of £400k and covered 110 m2. Both schemes successfully launched The Hummingbird Bakery’s new store design concept that has gone on to become one of the main features of this well-loved brand. “Customers visiting our new bakery on Frying Pan Alley for the first time almost always comment on how striking the appearance of the interior is. The clean lines, rich colours and glossy finishes all contribute towards the customer appreciating they are entering a space dedicated to indulgent and delicious luxuries – they are entering a Hummingbird Bakery.”
