There will be a special collection taken this weekend for the Archdiocese for Military Services. The AMS worldwide mission is to provide for the pastoral care of the 1.8 million Catholics serving in the United States Armed Forces, their family members, students at the Military Academies, patients in VA medical centers and US governmental personnel serving abroad. It is the only agency responsible for endorsing and granting faculties to chaplains and in service to those populations. is the Ordinary of the Archdiocese and Richard Higgins, Bishop Richard Spencer, Bishop Neal Buckon, and Bishop Robert Coyle are the four Auxiliaries. In support of the mission, they spend 65% of their time on pastoral visits to over 220 military locations in 29 countries and 153 VA Medical Centers throughout the United States.

Sunday 11/17: 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time As I mentioned last week, this year on Thanksgiving Day, we are expanding our ministry to our neighbors to the 8:30 Donald J. Fox by Mike, Patricia and west, in the City of Loran. Besides providing the meal and Clare Sweeney hospitality for the guests at St. Elizabeth Center, we will 11:00 Jon Michael Minotti and Joey Minotti also be providing a meal at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini in by The Swanson Family conjunction with their neighboring parishes: St. Vincent 5:00 For Our Parish DePaul and Sacred Heart Chapel. I am excited to be able to be in partnership with them to provide a needed warm and hospitable spot for Thanksgiving. I am asking for your help.

In service to people in our local community through the ministry of St. Vincent DePaul Society. They need the following items for their pantry: paper products, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, tuna fish, pasta and pasta sauce, cereal. What we need for the Thanksgiving Meals are: stuffing bread crumbs, chicken stock, onions, potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy. For food safety you can make monetary donations for perishable items, such as turkeys, butter, cream cheese, fresh green beans and celery. For the items needed for the Thanksgiving meals, I will place cards (like the giving tree) in the gathering area so we receive the proper quantities of what we need. A new movie about Divine Mercy and the life of St. Faustina, ”Love and Mercy,” has recently been released and will be shown at Crocker Park, Cinemark Strongsville at Southpark Mall, and Cinemark at Valley View at 7 pm on Monday, December 2. Jesus Calling Is Jesus calling you to spend time in prayer? If so, you are welcome to join other women of Saint Joseph Parish on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month beginning at 10 am. We will be reading the meditation of the day from “Jesus Calling,” and reflecting and sharing our thoughts on how it speaks to us. "Unplanned Movie: What She Saw Changed Everything" The Saint Joseph Pro-Life Ministry invites you on Sunday, November 10 at 6:30 in the evening to Saint Joseph Hall, located at 32946 Electric Blvd in Avon Lake. We will be hosting a viewing of the movie, “Unplanned.” This is a story of hope, truth, and love - Abby Johnson's story - from Planned Parenthood's Person of the Year to Pro-Life Champion. “Football Game Night” Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers The Avon, Ohio Knights of Columbus Fr. Ragan Council, No. 3269 will host a football game night at their Thursday evening, November 14, 2019 social meeting. The event will be held at Ragan Hall, 1783 Moore Rd., Avon Ohio with doors opening at 7:15 pm and the event beginning at 7:30 pm. The televised game starts at 8:20 pm. Snacks, light food and beverages will be provided and the event also includes a 50/50 raffle that will be pulled at half-time.
