PART #2 Today is the first of two days on the 95+ mile ride POUDRE CANYON RD. from Ft. Collins to Walden. It is a beautiful ride – a long, gradual climb up the TO STOVE PRAIRIE canyon and over Cameron Pass (10,276 ft.) into LANDING ’s North Park valley. However, traffic can be heavy on weekends in the Summer and Fall.

There are a large number of public & private NARRATIVE (cont.): campgrounds, lodgings & eateries along this first day’s ride, but there are no services on tomorrow’s 13.5 Continue west on SR 14 route. 60.5 CHAMBERS LAKE CAMPGROUND, CO --  USFS Chambers Lake Campground (970-295-6700 for info.), ¾ mile off of SR 14, located in the Arapahoe & Roosevelt National Forest. 44 RV sites and 7 walk-in sites for tents only, water spigots, vault toilets. Snow keeps this 9,200' campground closed until late June, and it is open only through late September. It is one of the most popular and top rated high-country camping experiences in Colorado, and thus reservations should be made well in advance.
