SPECIAL ORDER

Cameron Peak Fire and Mullen Fire

Pursuant to Title 16 U.S.C. § 551, and Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System land, trails and roads described below, located in the vicinity of the .

PROHIBITIONS:

Being in the areas described below. 36 CFR 261.52(e).

Being on the Roads described below. 36 CFR 261.54(e).

Being on the Trails described below. 36 CFR 261.55(a).

EXEMPTIONS:

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

1. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty; 2. Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order.

AREAS, ROADS, AND TRAILS DESCRIBED:

Area: Located within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Roosevelt National Forest, in Larimer County, , and depicted and shown on the attached Map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A, located on all National Forest System lands described below.

 South of the Wyoming state border, from the western of the extent of the Canyon Lakes Administrative Boundary to the eastern extent of the Canyon Lakes Administrative Boundary.  West of the eastern extent of the Canyon Lakes Administrative Boundary from the Wyoming border, to the Southwest corner of Township 10N Range 73W Section 19  Northwest of a line from the northwest corner of Section 36, Township 9N Range 72 W (Glacier View Meadows Filing 12) to within ¼ mile of the described as the High Park Fire line.  North of the Cache la Poudre River, outside of a ¼ mile buffer, from the High Park Fireline near Dutch George Campground to Forest System Road 168 (Kelly Flats).  South of the Cache la Poudre River outside of a ¼ mile buffer, beginning at the Kelly Flats Campground extending east to the Mount McConnel Forest System Trails.  South of the Mount McConnel Forest System Trails outside of a ¼ mile buffer, extending east along the Cache la Poudre River, outside of a ¼ mile buffer to County Road 27.  West of County Road 27, beginning ¼ mile south of the Cache la Poudre river to Fletcher Hill.  North of a described boundary beginning at Fletcher Hill and extending to Latman Lake then Donner Pass to South Signal Mountain.

Violations of these prohibitions are punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C §§ 3559 and 3571). Order # ARP‐CLRD‐2020‐06  North of the Rocky Mountain National Park Boundary from South Signal Mountain to the western Administrative Boundary of the Canyon Lakes Ranger District.  East of the western extent of the Canyon Lakes Administrative Boundary, from Rocky Mountain National Park to the Wyoming State Border.  South of the Rawah Wilderness northern boundary, from the Canyon Lakes western Administrative Boundary to County Road 99.  South of County Road 99 from the northern boundary of the Rawah Wilderness to North County Road 103 (Four Corners).

National Forest System Roads: All Forest System Roads contained within the area described above. Note: County and State routes in and around the closure area may be opened or closed by those jurisdictional authorities.

National Forest System Trails: All Forest System Trails contained within the area described above.

Trailheads: Bald Mountain , Beaver Creek, Big South, Blue Lake, Browns Lake, Corral Creek, Dadd Gulch, Donner Pass‐Ballard Road, Donner Pass‐Buckhorn Road, Elkhorn Creek, Emmaline Lake, Fish Creek, Jacks Gulch, Kelly Flats, Killpecker, , Link‐McIntyre, Molly Lake, North Lone Pine, Peterson Lake, Rawah, Roaring Creek, Signal Mountain, Stormy Peaks, Trap Park, West Branch, Zimmerman, & Zimmerman Lake

Campgrounds: Ansel Watrous, Aspen Glen, Bellaire Lake, Big Bend, Big South, Browns Park, , Dowdy Lake, Dutch George, Grandview, Jacks Gulch, Kelly Flats, Long Draw, Mountain Park, Narrows, North Fork Poudre, Sleeping Elephant, Stove Prairie Landing, Tom Bennett, Tunnel & West Lake. Note: all campgrounds on the Canyon Lakes Ranger District are closed, whether they are inside or outside the area closure.

Fishing Sites: Barnes Meadow, Creedmore Lake, Eggers, Indian Meadows, Indian Meadows, Joe Wright, Long Draw #1, Long Draw #2, & Long Draw #3 & Lost Lake

Boating Sites: Chambers Lake, Dowdy & Rustic River Access

Picnic Sites: Bellaire Lake, Bennett Creek, , Chambers Lake, Dowdy Lakes, Fish Creek, Tunnel & West Lake

Interpretive, Observation, & Snowpark Sites: Arrowhead Lodge, Big Bend Sheep Viewing Station, Deadman Lookout, Home Moraine Geological Site, Stub Creek Work Center, Long Draw & Upper

The purpose of this Order is for public health and safety during operations for the Cameron Peak Fire.

This Order goes into effect when signed and shall remain in effect until October 30th, 2020 or until rescinded, whichever occurs first.
