THE MOON CYCLE 101: WHAT DOES THE MOON MEAN FOR US? In astrology, the moon represents our inner world (feelings + desires), whereas the sun represents our outer world (how we ‘show up’ in the world). The moon phases mirror our emotional / energetic phases - our energy begins to build at the start of a cycle, then reaches a peak at the full moon. After that, it wanes again like diminishing moon, until the cycle ends. We can align our actions with the moon cycle to make our manifesting easier. One full lunar cycle around the earth is 29.5 days. It looks like this: Kait Fowlie Tarot Reader | Reiki Practitioner | Blogger Web: Kaitfowlie.com IG: @kait_fowlie THE MOON PHASES NEW MOON: FEEL INSIDE FOR AN INTENTION, PLANT A SEED The moon is positioned between the earth and the sun so the back side is lit, and we see darkness. Because everything goes dark, we have a blank canvas on which to create. New moon = limitless possibilities! ● Set intentions ● Decide what you want to call in, visualize having it ● Take one first step! FIRST QUARTER MOON (WAXING): BUILD MOMENTUM About 1 week after the new moon. The moon - and our emotional state - grow! ● Put together a plan and take steps to make your intentions real ● Speak and act as if you have. Be confident! FULL MOON: MANIFEST + OBSERVE 2 weeks after the new moon. The moon is on the exact opposite side of the Earth from the sun - that’s why it’s so bright! This is the culmination of the lunar cycle. Things rise to the surface and become clear now. Intuition / emotions are high. ● Creative outpour! Hit publish, launch, do the thing. ● Check in with your emotions / intuition ● Check in with your new moon goals and plan LAST QUARTER MOON (WANING): SORT THE CROPS About 1 week after the full moon. This is the manifestation period. Notice what you brought in - if you brought in something good, enjoy it! If you brought in something you don’t want, start to release it. ● Notice what you’ve manifested, take steps to release or reap DARK MOON: CHILLAX 4 weeks after the new moon, a few days before the new moon. As we gear up for the fresh start of the new moon, we need to do a monthly inventory / clean house. We might feel tired now. ● Let go of draining obligations, toxic emotional ties, etc. ● Rest and self-care ● Meditation Kait Fowlie Tarot Reader | Reiki Practitioner | Blogger Web: Kaitfowlie.com IG: @kait_fowlie ZODIAC SIGNS + THE MOON: WHAT DOES IT MEANS WHEN THE MOON IS IN A SIGN? When the moon is ‘in a sign,’ it means that it takes on the emotional energy of that sign. So, for example, with the full moon in Taurus, we all feel the energy of Taurus - luxury-loving, sensual, concerned with material security. Noticing the signs it’s in at any given part in it’s cycle (it moves into a different sign every 2-3 days) can help us manifest in greater alignment with it. Energies of the signs that influence the moon when the moon is in it: Moon in Aries: Competitive, trailblazing Taurus: Sensual, luxury-loving Gemini: Communicative, novelty-loving Cancer: Nurturing, family-oriented, comforting Leo: Expressive, creative, bold Virgo: Organized, meticulous Libra: Balanced in relationships, beauty-loving Scorpio: Honest, passionate Sagittarius: Adventurous, expansive Capricorn: Routine and work-oriented, ambitious Aquarius: Community-oriented, innovative, Pisces: Solitary, spiritual, creative THE MOON IN THE SIGNS AND MOON MANIFESTING There is a 6-month connection between new and full moons. Each new moon falls in a certain sign. 6 months later, a full moon occurs in that same sign. It’s said that we harvest new moon intentions 6 months later at the full moon in the same sign. (ie - the new moon in Gemini always takes place in late May or early June. The full moon in Gemini comes 6 months later, in late November / early December.) Keep rituals simple, doable and make sure you feel like yourself when doing them! Here are some I love: ● Journaling: Write a goodbye letter to what’s not serving you, or, write down all the self-talk you want to let go and burn it. Write down your dream as if you’re living it and plant the paper in some soil. (Get some seed paper and grow an actual plant with it!) ● Physical cleansing: Energy cleanse your place to set the stage for new energy to come in. Take a ritual bath with herbs / crystals corresponding to the sign the moon is in. ● Charge items under the full moon to clear or charge its energy: Crystals, jewelry, mason jars of water to spritz on yourself, around your place, or use in cooking, bath salts, tarot or oracle cards, your money vessel, vision board images! ● Scrying! Get a bowl of water and look into it under the full moon light - when intuition is high - and use it a ‘crystal ball.’ Without looking too hard at anything in particular, see into the water and allow the images to form. ● Meditate with the intention to receive an intuitive download. Exchange the favour by taking an aligned action. Think about it as an exchange. The universe likes that! ● Get you to a moon circle! Manifesting with the energetic support of other people who want the best for themselves will help you. Kait Fowlie Tarot Reader | Reiki Practitioner | Blogger Web: Kaitfowlie.com IG: @kait_fowlie .
