FISH TUBERCULOSIS: silent killer for fish, and possibly YOU ! SYDNEY GHOREISHI

SYMPTOMS IN FISH: Mycobacterium marinum Loss of scales, loss of color, lesions on body, skeletal deformities, loss of appetite, rap- id breathing, pop eye, reclusive behavior, and bloated stomachs.

THIS DISEASE CAN BE TRANSMITTED TO HUMANS! Prevention is the best cure. Take good care of your fish, and avoid purchasing sick ones. Practice good hygiene while maintaining your aquarium. If a fish is sick, isolate it from the main tank and give proper treatments. Try Sulphafurazole, Doxycycline, or Minocycline. Research more to find out about proper doses and other treatment options. If fish is expensive (or you love it very much!) seek vet- erinary help. If fish is beyond saving, humanely euthanize it! NEVER flush a live fish down a toilet!

SYMPTOMS IN HUMANS: Loss of appetite, weight, or energy. Fever, cough, night sweats. Rashes may occur on hands. Easily prevented by PRAC- TICING GOOD HYGEINE! If you have had a sick fish, whether you are sure it had TB or not, and you become ill, take TB into account! http://www.emedicinehealth.com/tuberculosis/page3_em.htm http://www.petfish.net/kb/entry/170/ http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/disease/ tbc.php http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index? qid=20070808031029AA7OBBt

Spring is right around the corner which means warm weather is too. One of my favorite warm weather treats is a shake. So here are recipes for a Nutella ba- nana shake, and a chocolate chip cookie shake. You will need: • 1/4-1/2 cup Skim Milk • 2 cups Low Fat Vanilla Frozen Yogurt • 1/3 cup Nutella • 1/2 large banana, sliced • Whipped cream *optional for garnish chocolate sprinkles *optional for garnish (sprinkles don’t have to be chocolate)

To make this shake you will need to: Add ingredients to blender jar and secure lid. Select "Ice Crush/Milkshake" and serve in chilled glasses. *Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles Chocolate Chip Cookie Shake Reagan McCoy

You will need: • 2 cups vanilla ice cream • 3 chocolate chip cookies, broken up • 1/4 cup chocolate chips • 1 cup milk • Whipped cream, chocolate chips, and extra cookies for garnish, if desired

Now to make your shake you will need to: 1. Now place the vanilla ice cream, cookies, chocolate chips, and milk in blend- er. Make sure the lid is on tight and blend until smooth. If the lid isn’t on tight, your shake will go all over the ceiling and walls.

2. Pour chocolate chip cookie milkshake in glasses. Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and half chocolate chip cookie, if desired. Serve immediately. If you don’t serve immediately your shake will melt. Half Minute Horrors 2013 THE OLD MAN IN THE PICTURE

Jakes mother promised that if he sat quietly in the waiting room while she saw her new doctor, he could have three bowls of ice cream afterward. Despite the promise, Jake was not happy. He didn’t like waiting and he did not like the room. He especially didn’t like that ugly portrait of an old man hanging on the wall across from where he sat. Jake didn’t like that the old man seemed to be staring right at him with a strange and awful look. Jake tried moving, but the eyes of the old man seemed to follow him around the room. It was creepy alright, but Jake wasn’t scared. No, not in the least. He marched right up to that picture and… That’s when he suddenly noticed the old man’s hands. They were bony and had long, pointed nails. When his mother finally came out of the doctor’s office, there was no sign of Jake. Although she did glimpse an old man slipping out the door. He looked oddly familiar…

Then she turned around and looked at the portrait. And her screams could be heard all the way down the street. - the end
