The Problem A global hotel chain wanted to see what was possible in a connected hotel experience, since this is a precursor to the smart home of the future

The Solution Mobiquity chose to leverage the Alexa Skills Kit to create a hotel room experience that includes controlling lighting, temperature, in-room music, ordering room service, and more.

The experience will soon be in pilot, with the potential to roll out nation-wide.

The solution was built on architecture using Lamba, API Gateway, DynamoDB and S3.

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 9 Alexa as an order taker Problem A fast food chain wanted to make it easier for its members to order ahead, skip the line and pick up their order.

Solution Mobiquity chose to use the Echo and the Alexa Skills Kit.

Using Alexa, we call a Lambda function, which then allows a user to interact with the Echo using the ordering skill that we created. We then added the chain’ s menu as utterances to ensure that the user would be able to order anything that she desired.

Once the order is placed, Alexa reads the order back to the user and then an email is sent with a confirmation of the order.

Problem Clinical Research often requires patient feedback on the treatment Welcome to StudyCheck! …. satisfaction of a study medication. This healthcare company wanted to demonstrate viability of voice I will ask you a small number services in posing a Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire for of questions every day…. Medication (TSQM).

Solution Mobiquity chose to use the with a Lambda Function to pose questions in the realm of TSQM. The Alexa Skill StudyCheck interacts with the patient, checks it is alright to proceed, informally collects the patient’s name and asks a number of questions about a study medication.

The Problem Our client wanted to monitor a variety of sensors in a manufacturing environment.

The Solution For a POC we used Intel Edison Boards to monitor a variety of sensors placed around the manufacturing floor. The Edison Board would then send events to AWS IoT.

On a simulated device, we had the Edison Board monitoring a variety of events caused by movements of a dial, pushes of various buttons, temperature changes, motion, etc.. This allowed our client to appropriately plan for how they would integrate sensors into their manufacturing equipment over time.

Problem A client wanted its customers to experience interacting with Alexa on the go

Solution Mobiquity integrated the Alexa Voice Service into an Android application.

Using Alexa, we call a Lambda function, which then allows a user to interact with the Echo using the skill that we created. In this example we had a multi-tier ordering scenario, where Alexa would then confirm the order placed, by reading it back, and give the user a chance to modify the order. When the user confirmed that the order was complete, Alexa would connect to DynamoDB via API Gateway and display the results inside of the Android app, simulating a virtual receipt.

A coffee house wanted to see how IoT could impact consumer behavior. We reprogrammed an as a coffee order button Pressing once identifies the closest coffee house and sets Google Maps to navigate the user there Pressing a second time places your preset order (in this example, a cappuccino) when you are within 3 minutes of the location

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 14 Alexa as a tool for operations

The Problem A large retailer wanted a fun and interactive way to get real-time updates of sales by store

The Solution Using Alexa, we call a Lambda function, which then connects to AWS’ API Gateway, and a private service at the retailer. Alexa then speaks the result, tied to the store number

How It Works User: “Alexa, start sales” Alexa: “Hi, I’m here to help find your sales numbers.” User: “What were February 2016 sales for store 700” Alexa: “Sales were $750,000. You met your sales target for February 2016.”

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 15 Alexa as a Lab Helper

The Situation A client wanted to give visitors of their Innovation Lab a way to learn about the exhibits on display.

The Innovation Mobiquity worked with our client on a Lab Helper, which allows users to interact and ask questions about the lab exhibits

How It Works ● “Alexa, tell me about the displays” ● “Alexa, tell me about the mannequins” ● “Alexa, what’s on the Apple TV?”

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 16 Mobile as a platform for content distribution

The Situation A global management consulting firm had a mobile responsive website but needed a native, mobile experience for sharing their intellectual property.

The Solution Mobiquity created a Serverless Lambda solution leveraging the following: ● Cognito Identity - create secure anonymous IDs to remember users across sessions and preserve their content category selections ● SNS - to notify users of new content ● API Gateway - secure and scalable solution for communication with mobile devices ● Lambda functions - to pull content from SDL/Tridion CMS and store in an S3 bucket ● Dynamo DB - as a cache server ● Amazon Mobile Analytics

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 17 Alexa as a voice navigator for Fire TV The Problem Our client wanted to find a way to bring a visual aspect to interactions with Amazon’s Echo.

The Solution We developed an Alexa Skills Kit that would take in the voice input from the Echo and then display that output using a Fire TV webapp. The Fire TV would then display the web page. We also created an “Echo Buddy” which allows the user to see that the webpage is appropriately connecting to and receiving updates from the Echo.

How It Works ● “Alexa, show me the traffic for zip code 02818’, where The Fire TV would then display the traffic. ● “Alexa, search Google for Echo”, where The Fire TV would show a browser consisting of search results for Echo.

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 18 Alexa as a drone controller

How it works ● User speaks invocation command to Alexa: "Alexa, start flying drone" ● The Alexa skill starts up and Alexa explains what commands are available* ● User speaks utterance “take off” ● The interaction model picks up on the utterance "take off”, which dispatches a request to the Lambda URL Endpoint specified in the Skill ● The Lambda function parses the intent and as a result deposits a command into an SQS Queue ● Command is queued ● A workstation periodically checks the queue using the AWS CLI ● When a message arrives in the queue, the workstation pulls it, passes it to the node-ar-drone library and removes the message from the queue ● The node-ar-drone library sends a command over WiFi to the drone to “take off” ● Drone ascends into the air. * user can issue the following commands: take off, fly forward, fly backward, rotate, land, fire lasers

©2016 Mobiquity Inc. Proprietary and Confidential 19 IoT as an Intervention Channel using the Amazon Web Services IoT Platform

An example - building healthier sleeping habits with delta iQ* and IoT: ● The user engages with an app designed to help people build healthier sleeping habits. ● Through the user’s interactions with the app and a smart phone, the user sends events and data to delta iQ in the course of the user’s journey. ● An activity tracker worn by the user may also be sending events and data to delta iQ on the user’ s state, e.g. Is the user active? Is the user asleep? Has the user recently logged a meal? ● Through its event-driven, predictive scoring engine and behavioral triggers, delta iQ adjusts the user’s home lighting intensity in order to nudge the user on the desired behavior, and ultimately to help the user build a healthier sleeping routine.

* delta iQ, Mobiquity’s Engagement and Personalization Platform, can deliver “Intelligent Interactions” in a timely, relevant manner, through multiple communication channels (e.g. Email, text, voice and push) ©2016 Mobiquity Inc.
