Emergency road works cannot be forecast. » New Entry Estimate of Potential Disruption: # Update *** major ** medium * minor PROPOSED ROAD CLOSURE Section 75, Roads Act 1993 Temporary Closure of Roadways to Facilitate the Airtricity Dublin City Marathon 2017 Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council intends to make an order authorising the temporary closure of the following roads: Sunday 29th October 2017 From To CLONSKEAGH ROAD 09.00 17.00 ROEBUCK ROAD 09.00 17.00 FOSTER’S AVENUE 09.00 17.00 STILLORGAN ROAD (R138 Dual Carriageway), North from the junction with Foster’s Avenue and via the UCD Flyover to the County Boundary 09.00 17.00 Local diversion routes will be in place. Section 75, Roads Act 1993 Temporary Closure of St. Fintan’s Park, Deansgrange Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has received an application from Elliott Group to temporarily close St. Fintan’s Park in two sections. The first road closure section is proposed from the westernmost bend in St. Fintan’s Park (where the road turns north) Page 1 of 6 until the beginning of the green area in St. Fintan’s Park. This closure is proposed from 9.00 to 5.00pm each day from Tuesday the 31/10/17 to Friday the 28/11/17. The second road closure section will be from the end of the green area until the junction St. Fintan’s Park with Abbey Court. This closure is proposed from 9.00 to 5.00pm each day from Wednesday the 03/01/18 to Friday the 02/02/18. Pedestrian and local access will be maintained at all times. The proposed diversion routes will be via Abbey Road and Deansgrange Road. A traffic and pedestrian management plan will be in place and diversions will be clearly signposted. The purpose of the closure is to make a foul and surface water connection for the new housing development on Abbey Road. Any interested parties may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Engineer, Traffic Section, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire not later than noon on Tuesday 17th October, 2017, or email [email protected] ROAD CLOSURES Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 Extension to Temporary Closure of Kelly’s Avenue, Dún Laoghaire Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has received an application from John Sisk and Sons (Holdings) Ltd), Wilton Works, Naas Road, Dublin 22 to extend the period of temporary closure of Kelly’s Avenue, Dún Laoghaire from its junction with George’s Place to its junction with Crofton Road to through traffic from Monday 16th October, 2017 to Friday 10th November, 2017. The purpose of the closure is to make a new drainage connection for the new Rapid Delivery housing development at George’s Place, Dún Laoghaire. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and the diversion routes will be clearly signposted. Local Access will be maintained at all times. ROADWORKS / LANE RESTRICTIONS » New Entry: » Wyattville Road and Leopardstown Road ** There will be Gully cleaning and Road Sweeping on the Wyattville Road and Leopardstown Road on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October 2017. Starting at 5:00am and finishing at 1:00pm. Traffic Management and slow moving crash cushion vehicle will be in operation at both locations and times. Page 2 of 6 » Newtownsmith and Otranto Place, Sandycove ** Road and footpath repairs will commence on Monday, 16th October 2017 for 7 days. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. # Glenageary Road Upper (adjacent to Gowrie Park / St Kevin’s Villas) ** (Day & Night works) ESB cabling and jointing works will continue until Friday, 20th October 2017 between 00:00 and 23:59 hrs. The works will be in place for 24hrs/day. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. # Stillorgan Laneways * Civil works and laneway upgrade works will continue until Friday, 20th October 2017 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. R118 / Wyattville Dual Carriageway, Cherrywood **** The delivery of the Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone will involve significant construction works over the next 7 months in the Cherrywood area. The first phase of infrastructure provision for the Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone will be delivered by JCL, the joint venture between John Cradock Ltd. / Jons Civil Engineering. Major road works began on the Wyattville Dual Carriageway between M50 Junction 16 and the N11 at Cherrywood, on 9th February 2017 and will continue until March 2018. The primary focus of this phase of the infrastructure works is the upgrade of the Wyattville Roundabout to a large signalised junction, and upgrade of Tullyvale Road to a multi-lane dual carriageway, involving road construction, road drainage, traffic signals, public lighting, provision of utilities, etc. Traffic restrictions will be in place for the duration and delays can be expected. It is intended to retain two lanes of traffic inbound and outbound at peak times. During off-peak times from 10am to 4pm on intermittent days, traffic shall be reduced to 1 lane in both directions on the R118 Wyattville Link Road between the N11 and M50 in order to facilitate various new service road crossings and construction of various tie-in sections to the new junction arrangement. Barriers will remain in place around the junction and in the medians to facilitate works in all areas around the junction. Please note that Pay and Display parking on Tullyvale Road will cease permanently from 1st February 2017, however, Pay and Display parking is available adjacent to the Brides Glen Luas stop, on Cherrywood Avenue Extension. Page 3 of 6 Luas users are advised that vehicle drop-offs or collections on Tullyvale Road for the Cherrywood Luas stop are restricted during construction works, and drivers are advised to use the Brides Glen Luas stop for drop-offs and collections. Wyattville Road Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme *** Work commenced on the Wyattville Road Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme on Monday, 8th May 2017 between 08.00 and 18.00 hrs. Monday to Friday. The scheme involves the upgrade of Wyattville Road between Wyattville Close and Churchview Road and is expected to continue until May 2018. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Frascati Shopping Centre Extension *** Right Turn into Shopping Centre from City Centre - Closed Straight Ahead into Shopping Centre from Rock Hill - Closed In order to facilitate the on-going extension works at Frascati Shopping Centre the existing right turn lane, on the outbound carriageway from the City Centre and the existing straight ahead movement from Rock Hill into Frascati Shopping Centre will be closed temporarily. The temporary closures of the right hand turning lane and straight ahead movement from Rock Hill are to facilitate the on-going construction process for the new underground car park. A one-way traffic management system will be implemented on site to facilitate the works. Car park attendants will be deployed at peak times within the shopping centre to ensure that shopping centre traffic operates smoothly during the period of the development works. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works. Diversions will be in place to direct traffic towards the shopping centre entrance at the end of George’s Avenue. Monkstown Village Improvement Scheme *** Work commenced on the Monkstown Village Improvement Scheme on Monday, 24th April 2017 between 08.00 and 18.00 hrs. - Monday to Friday. Works affecting two-way traffic through the Village are restricted between 10:00 and 16:00 hours. The current phase of works is along the north side of Monkstown Crescent. From Monday, 16th September cars heading from Carrickbrennan Road to Monkstown Road will be diverted into the newly constructed lane adjacent to the Ring. This is to allow the completion of the kerbing works around the Ring. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and information relating to the scheme will be available at: www.dlrcoco.ie/monkstown Page 4 of 6 Ballinteer Road, Dundrum *** Stone wall construction, bank formation and tree removal between Lynwood and Ailsbury Lawns will commence on Monday, 18th September 2017 until Friday, 27th October 2017 between 10:00 and 16:30 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Monkstown Road, Monkstown ** Single lane traffic will be in operation on Monkstown Road between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. from Monday, 2nd October 2017 until Friday, 1st December 2017 to facilitate the installation of a new water main. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Seafield Road, Blackrock ** Road and footpath reconstruction works will be carried out from Monday, 2nd October 2017 until Friday, 27th October 2017 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Cherrywood Estate ** Road restoration works will commence on Wednesday, 20th September 2017 until Friday, 13th October 2017 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation during the works. Barton Road East, Rathfarnham ** Road reconstruction works will commence on Monday, 11th September 2017 until Saturday, 21st October 2017 between 10:00 and 16:30 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Mapas Avenue, Dalkey ** Footpath restoration works will commence on Monday, 9th October 2017 until Friday, 27th October 2017 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs.     EIS - National Maternity Hospital Arup 6.0 Traffic and Transportation 6.1 Introduction This chapter of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) presents the transport strategy for, and potential transport impacts of the proposed development of The National Maternity Hospital at St. Vincent’s University Hospital Campus, Elm Park, Dublin 4 (the ‘Campus’). The proposed new National Maternity Hospital building will be located at the eastern side of the hospital campus and comprises the construction of a building that rises to 5 and 6 storeys above ground level, with one partial basement level, plus additional ancillary plant areas at the roof level. The full detail of the nature and extent of the proposed development is set out in Chapter 2 of this EIS. Full detail of the anticipated construction sequencing and phasing is set-out in the Draft Construction Management Plan. The proposed development also includes an extension to the existing multi-storey car park at the north of the campus.
