AWARD WINNING EMO ADAMS TO FILL THE SHOES OF JOHAN STEMMET

AS THE NEW HOST OF NOOT VIR NOOT

SABC2 welcomes the multi-talented Emo Adams as the new host of the channel’s longest running game show, Noot vir Noot, when it returns with season 44 on the 15th August 2019.

Noot vir Noot will be broadcast on Thursdays at 19:00. With the new host and new season comes an all new format- the show is doing away with the band, introducing a Disc Jockey, DJ Shelley, whose real name is Rochelle De Bruyn. DJ Shelly brings a fresh touch to the show having performed locally and internationally.

Speaking about his successor, Executive Producer and Director Johan Stemmet had this to say, “A better artist, performer, presenter, all-round entertainer than Emo will be hard to find. Emo is cut out for this role and he will certainly take the show to further heights. It’s great to welcome Emo on the Noot vir Noot set. He is a great choice to take the presenting role over from me and as director of the show I am so looking forward to working closely with him for many years to come”.

SABC2 viewers are in for a treat as this season of Noot vir Noot is set to rock the screens with a refreshed format that will excite and continue to put smiles on their faces.

Biography of Emo Adams -

Emo Adams was born and raised in Mitchells Plain, , and has over the past 30 years established himself as an influential and significant Singer, Music & TV Producer, Actor and Presenter within the South African entertainment industry.

He became involved in the entertainment industry when he was 9 years old, portraying the role of Broe’tjie in David Kramer and Taliep Petersen’s the Musical.

He later travelled the world as the lead in , mesmerizing audiences in Frankfurt, Vienna, Las Vegas and London’s West End. His Television roles included the funny Lovebite in Ali Baber and Detective Malan in SABC 2’s Malan & Kie. Among his credentials is his talk show, Jou Show Met Emo which served audiences for 10 years and won numerous awards including a Tempo Award and ATKV Media Veertjie for Best Television presenter in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively and also walking away with a SAFTA for Best Show Producer this year.

Over the past 30-years Emo has starred in and produced many stage shows including “Finding Emo” which won an award for best musical production and for best actor in a musical production in 2015

He is also Presenter, Creative director and Executive producer of Maak My Famous a new and innovative Talent search that stems from a concept he started at this theatre, The All-star Theatre in 2012.

Emo is also dedicated to giving back to the communities in order to change the lives of those that are less fortunate.

Emo continues to entertain entertained audiences with his unique brand and sense of comedy and overall showmanship. Whether he is performing at a festival, concert or a corporate event, audiences are never disappointed by this dynamic, diverse and comical performer.

Biography of DJ Shelley

Rochelle De Bruyn has been involved in the DJ industry since the age of 16. After completing her studies at the sound engineering college, she became the resident DJ at various popular clubs in Cape Town.

Going by the name DJ Shelly, she soon formed a duo named Bonnie and Clyde and performed at some of the country’s biggest festivals, including Vortex, Rezonance and Origin to a crowd of more than 7 000 people. Covering a wide range of genres, Rochelle continued to perform at various venues both locally and internationally.

Over and above her DJ experience; Rochelle is also an accomplished pianist; and has performed in multiple bands including playing for the well-known singer Desmond Wells.

As a DJ, musician and sound producer Rochelle has an unquenchable passion for the industry, which is reflected in her outgoing, energetic and playful personality
