This paper examines the privatization of Lufthansa and Deutsche Telekom in order to see whether changes in enterprise ownership reflect a process of convergence in the rules of coiporate governance. While the outward form of privatization in Germany looks quite similar to privatization in Britain and the United States, these two cases show little evidence that the change in ownership is driving any formal changes in corporate governance. If anything, German financial institutions and trade unions continue to exercise distinctive roles that rest on their historical positions in the German economy. This will ensure that RWE's strategic orientation, which Rolf Martin Schmitz and Markus Krebber have advanced consistently since 2016, will continue to be pursued with the utmost resolve: to position RWE as a global leader in renewable energy with the declared goal of being carbon neutral by 2040.” At the end of July this year, the Supervisory Board of RWE AG had already appointed Dr. Markus Krebber (47) CEO of RWE AG effective 1 July 2021 for a term of five years. He succeeds Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz, whose contract expires on this date, as scheduled. At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board took further important personnel decisions in order to ensure a seamless transition of responsibilities. Bestenbostel Wolfsburg, December 3, 2020 – Nicole Mommsen is to be the new Head of Global Group Communications at Volkswagen. In her future function, she will be responsible for the en- tire communications of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft and will report to CEO Herbert Diess. Nicole Mommsen succeeds Peik v. Bestenbostel, who will hand over this function with effect from January 1, 2021 and leave the company as part of a planned retirement ar- rangement. Nicole Mommsen joined Volkswagen from Goldman Sachs this August and has since headed Corporate Communications. “In Peik v. Bestenbostel, I had a competent and loyal advisor at my side over the past four years. He steered Corporate Communications safely through the era of the diesel crisis, transformation and coronavirus,” said Herbert Diess. “I would like to thank Peik v. BMW Corporate Communications Media Information DTM 2nd July 2017 Second race, second BMW victory: Maxime Martin wins eventful Sunday race at the Norisring. • BMW’s 75th victory in the DTM since 1984. • Maxime Martin stands on the top step of the DTM podium for the third time. • Five BMW M4 DTMs finish in the top ten. Norisring. Following Bruno Spengler’s (CAN) victory in Saturday’s race at the Norisring (GER), it was another BMW driver who crossed the finish line in first place at the end of the eighth race of the year on Sunday: after 66 laps, two safety car phases and one red flag, Maxime Martin (BEL) took the chequered flag to claim the 75th success for BMW in the DTM having started from seventh on the grid. Martin backed up third place in Budapest (HUN) and second place on Saturday with his third DTM victory – his first since 2015 at the Nürburgring. For BMW, this was a fitting conclusion to a historic weekend at the Norisring. BMW was victorious in Nuremberg for the first time since 1992 – and, as was also the case back then, in both races. Marco Wittmann (GER), Augusto Farfus (BRA), Tom Blomqvist (GBR) and Timo Glock (GER) finished fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth to complete a fine team result, with five BMW M4 DTMs in the top ten on Sunday. Spengler came home twelfth, having been in contention for a podium finish for long periods of the race. Qualifying: As usual, the grid positions at the narrow street circuit were decided by mere thousandths of a second. -

Timo Glock (GER) and Bruno Spengler (CAN) finished second and third in Saturday’s turbulent race at the Hungaroring (HUN) after a strong catch-up race, which saw them claim the third and fourth podiums of the season for BMW Motorsport. Both drivers benefitted from a daring strategy with early pit stops, which paid off after a safety car phase. Marco Wittmann (GER) in ninth also finished in the points. A collision forced Maxime Martin (BEL) and Tom Blomqvist (GBR) to retire. Augusto Farfus (BRA) was in fifth place when he was hit by a rival and the resulting spin saw him drop right down the field. Qualifying: Augusto Farfus in the Shell BMW M4 DTM achieved his best qualifying result of the season and started the race as the best-placed BMW driver in sixth on the grid. His personal fastest lap time was 1:32.275 minutes. Tom Blomqvist in the BMW Driving Experience M4 DTM in tenth place also made it into the top ten. Maxime Martin (SAMSUNG BMW M4 DTM), Timo Glock (DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM), Marco Wittmann (Red Bull BMW M4 DTM) and Bruno Spengler (BMW Bank M4 DTM) followed in positions 12, 14, 15 and 17. The last time the DTM saw such a close finish was 24 years ago. “The race was pretty entertaining,” said René Rast, who had to fight hard for his first victory of the season – especially against pole sitter Robin Frijns. The two brand mates clashed in the first corner after the start. “I had to drive through the grass in Turn 1, and also afterwards the fight with Robin was pretty hard. We pitted early to react to an undercut of Robin and Marco (Wittmann). I knew that Nico would come in the end on fresher tires. Our strategy was brave, and it got pretty tight, but fortunately it worked for us.” Nico Müller didn’t get a perfect start from second on the grid. “There was more grip than I expected,” said the Swiss. “When René and Robin did some rallycrossing in front of me, I briefly had a clear view. -

Audi Sport has a special history in the DTM on the famous race track in the Eifel as well. Be it the V8, TT, A4 or A5: with every model range Audi has been active in the DTM so far the brand with the four rings has celebrated victories at the Nürburgring – a total of nine to date. The first one was achieved in 1990 by two-time World Rally Champion Walter Röhrl (Germany) in the legendary Audi V8 quattro. In 2001, the Frenchman Laurent Aiello clinched the first DTM success of the compact Audi TT at the Nürburgring. At the same time, this marked the first DTM triumph of today’s Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline that could be celebrating its 50th victory in a DTM race this weekend. The most recent Audi victory at the Nürburgring was achieved a year ago by Miguel Molina. July 2, 2021 DMM Advisory Keeping you informed about classification and mailing standards of the United States Postal Service UPDATE 184: International Mail Service Updates Related to COVID-19 On July 2, 2021, the Postal Service received notifications from various postal operators regarding changes in international mail services due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The following countries have provided updates to certain mail services: Mauritius UPDATE: Mauritius Post has advised that the Government of Mauritius has announced the easing of COVID-related restrictions as of July 1, 2021, subject to strict adherence to sanitary protocols and measures. On July 15, 2021, Mauritius will gradually open its international borders. However, COVID-19 continues to have a direct impact on international inbound and outbound mails to and from Mauritius. Therefore, the previously announced provisions and force majeure continue to apply for all inbound and outbound international letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items. New Zealand UPDATE: New Zealand Post has advised that the level-2 alert in the Wellington region has ended as of June 29, 2021. Panama UPDATE: Correos de Panama has advised that post offices, mail processing centers (domestic and international) and the air transhipment office at Tocúmen International Airport are operating under normal working hours and the biosafety measures established by the Ministry of Health of Panama (MINSA). Correos de Panamá confirms that it is able to continue to receive inbound mail destined for Panama. However, Correos de Panama is unable to guarantee service standards for inbound and outbound mail. As a result, force majeure with respect to quality of service for all categories of mail items will apply until further notice.
