  • The USWNT Return to Camp
The USWNT Return to Camp Just last month the United States Women’s National Soccer Team held a ten-day-long training camp in Denver, Colorado. This was the first time the entire team had been together since the She Believes Cup in March of 2020. The new player roster consisted of 27 players, many being younger and newer faces. Coach Vlatko Andovoski said, “Getting the National Team back together brings us relief and excitement, and I’m thankful for all the work done behind the scenes to make this happen” Even with notable players like Rose Lavelle, Sam Mewis, Christen Press, and Tobin Heath not available for the camp as they were playing overseas in Europe’s Women League there was still buzz around the camp. Rose and Sam are both signed on for short- term contracts with Manchester City while Tobin and Christen are signed with Manchester United. Also missing from the usual list of call-ups were Carli Lloyd and Mallory Pugh, who are both currently undergoing recovery from injuries they sustained earlier this year. Megan Rapinoe, a very well known face and name for the team, opted out of the camp due to COVID concerns. Alex Morgan was also missing because of playing overseas and the birth of her daughter only six months ago. The camp focused on getting to know the new faces and getting back into the swing of team training; therefore, there were no international games during this camp. The roster created for the camp consisted of four goalkeepers, ten defenders, seven midfielders, and six forwards.

Michigan Wolverines Rutgers Scarlet Knights (16-5, 5-3 B1G) The Rage Page (12-8, 2-5 B1G) Volume XVII Issue XI The Official Newsletter of the Maize Rage 21 January 2018 Scarlet Knights projected starting line-up: Good afternoon Wolverines and welcome to Crisler! Today marks the end of the densest part of Michigan’s conference schedule, playing their fourth game in nine days as they meet 0 Geo Baker 6’4” G the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. It has been a crazy week for the team, so let’s help them Thinks Lavar Ball is a genius rebound by providing lots of energy today. Poor Rutgers: Ever since they’ve joined the league in 2014, Rutgers has borne the brunt 3 Corey Sanders 6’2” G of jokes from other Big Ten schools, and not without cause. They’ve finished dead last in Wants to know why people hate the Kardashians so each of the three seasons of BIg Ten basketball that they’ve been a part of. However, this much season there has been some hope. They beat the now 19th ranked Seton Hall Pirates and 21 Mamadou Doucoure 6’9” F took the Spartans to overtime in East Lansing. But that hope has been diminished by losses to Stony Brook and Hartford, ranked 213th and 255th on Kenpom, respectively. Has started every game, but only averages 14 minutes per game Carrying the Load: Corey Sanders is Rutgers’ leading scorer, and watching him play it’s 33 Deshawn Freeman 6’7” F evident he is very talented, but he is very much a volume shooter.

No low- ball offers, I know what I got.” The post included a photo of a short, opened 8-ounce can of the fruity energy drink that has fueled U.S. wartime operations since 2004 by the tens of millions and has become a staple for troops, veterans and contractors alike. His asking price: $500. “It was indeed my last can of Rip It,” Modeste said in a phone interview in early July about the photo he’d jokingly posted weeks earlier. He’d planned to snap the photo before popping the can’s top and downing half of it, “but I couldn’t wait to dig in.” Energy drinks and tobacco be- came hot commodities as base Vanishing gains SEE FUELED ON PAGE 5 In a city besieged by the Taliban, Afghan military advances disappear with forces stretched thin BY SUSANNAH GEORGE forces were halfway through an operation to “We are being asked to perform a job The Washington Post retake a sliver of territory along the city’s that we were not trained to do.
