6 Secretary’s Report

I would like to present the Association’s 20th Annual Report to all members of the Moore Park South East Cricket Association. In 2014/2015 we had a total of 26 teams in the competition compete four grades with the Premiership winners being 1st Grade – Clovelly CC 2; 2nd Grade – Kingsford Apaches; 3rd Grade – Clovelly; and 4th Grade – Botany United. The Club Championship was taken out by Clovelly CC for the fourth successive season. The representative season saw our Martin Shield team fail to qualify for the quarter-finals as a result of changes to the qualification rules. In the competition we defeated Fairfield/Liverpool in Round 1, then lost to Hawkesbury in Round 2 and our Round 3 match against Parramatta was washed out. To make up for this disappointment our team that travelled to Bathurst for the annual match on the long weekend in January against a Bathurst XI returned victorious with a closely fought win. The tragic passing of Phillip Hughes whilst playing for South Australia against NSW at the SCG had a profound effect on all cricketers and it was heartening to see that we as an association could pay our respects with a minutes silence on the Saturday following his passing. My thanks to our Patron Mr. Harry Solomons and Kingsgrove Sports Centre, the South Sydney Junior Rugby League Football Club and Kookaburra for their ongoing support and sponsorship of the Association. I would also like to thank all fellow Board Members, club delegates, umpires, scorers, volunteers and players who make up the competition and make it a success.

The Association has had much discussion with Churches NSW Cricket Association in regard to a proposed joint 1st Grade competition for the 2015/2016 cricket season. Much work is still to take place if this joint competition is to become a reality for the upcoming season but the Board of Management is determined working towards making it a reality with the hope that it can be a positive move in the long term future of this association.

Yours in cricket

David Power Secretary

7 President’s Report

Ladies and Gentlemen: The 2014-2015 season marked the completion of 20 seasons since Moore Park, South Sydney and the Catholic Association joined to form the Moore Park South East Cricket Association.

Season 2014/15 saw an interesting year of park cricket for the Association. The Association fielded 4 grades as per the previous year and welcomed new club Komodo Dragons to our third grade competition. The Association followed a similar format as in previous years but had to schedule more one day games due to ground availability issues.

I congratulate all of those Premiership Clubs on their success in particular Clovelly who fielded both their ones and twos in the first grade grand final as well as participating in the 3rd grade grand final – a truly remarkable feat! Remarkable as the first grade grand final saw Clovelly twos defeat the favourites in a match that went down to the final over, a wonderful game of cricket. Clovelly also took out the Club championship for the fourth year in a row. Congratulations to 2nd Grade Premiers, Kingsford Apaches who at long last have a Premiership although SRT were gallant in defeat with the grand final result seesawing throughout the match. Third and Fourth grade saw Captain Cook field sides in a bid to win a double however the Clovelly side were too strong in a tight 3rd grade grand final whilst Botany United accounted for the fourth grade title. Special mention to Coogee Bay Rebels who this year failed to make a grand final despite having 4 teams and featuring strongly in competition throughout the season. Congratulations also to the many individuals whose achievements are recorded further in this report.

The season did not enjoy the same success on the representative front as was the case in previous years. The Association’s Martin Shield just failed to reach the quarter finals due to a change in the qualification rules. On a positive note the annual match between Bathurst District Association and the MPSECA was played in Bathurst with Moore Park South East Cricket Association regaining THE PLANK after a six season drought! My thanks to all players who went to Bathurst with the team ably led by the skipper Nic Lochner. My thanks to Tony Pengue who took on the job of organising the representative teams this year along with selectors, Dave Power, Greg Leslie and Aurnob Imtiaz. Finally my thanks to the Martin Shield Captain Ash Azhar and his dedicated team who at all times gave their utmost and on the occasions when it appeared MPSECA was in trouble a true fight back spirit prevailed ………a great team effort throughout the season my sincere thanks to all.

For an association to be successful, it needs support. I would like to thank a number of people for their support in season 2014-15-:

Noel Moig Agencies for the KOOKABURRA SPONSORSHIP. This sponsorship is used directly to assist in the ever increasing ground fees set by the landlords of our grounds. I am pleased to report this year saw only minor fee increase due directly to the monies from this sponsorship. My thanks to both Noel Moig and Cameron Eves of Noel Moig Agencies and the team at Kookaburra for their ongoing support.

Mr. Harry Solomon’s, Managing Director Kingsgrove Sports. Harry is not only our Patron but a long time supporter of park cricket in the South Sydney area having not only played many games in the former South Sydney Cricket Association but also represented that Association. Harry has a true understanding of Association cricket and what it takes to be a successful association and our success is helped by his support both at club and Association level. I thank Harry and the team at Kingsgrove Sports for their support and I urge all clubs to visit Kinsgrove Sports for all your teams and individual cricket requirements.

South Sydney Juniors Club. Not only do we get a great deal for our presentation evening but the club also financially contributes to ground costs each year. To the Board of Souths Juniors my thanks for your continued support and the Association looks forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.

8 Doncaster Hotel. The Doncaster Hotel is now in its fifth year as a sponsor of our representative sides. My thanks to Bryce and the team at the Doncaster Hotel for their continued support. I would urge all members to try the bistro at the Donny…….the food is fabulous and don’t forget to try your hand at trivia on trivia night and of course TEXAS polka ………thanks again to the DONNY.

Centennial Parklands, Botany Council, Randwick Council. Our thanks to these organisations and their staff who ensure our grounds are maintained each week.

Umpires. My thanks to the umpires who each Saturday control our fixtures. A special thank you to Dave Power who took on the job of coordinating the umpires following John Chalmers retirement.

MPSECA Board. This year we welcomed new Board members, Aurnob Imtiaz, Nic Lochner and Steve Ward and as a result of these gentleman becoming Board members we had for the first time for many years a full board. My thanks to all Board members especially Vice President and Secretary Dave Power whose contribution as an administrator in a voluntary capacity can never be thanked enough.

MPSECA Affiliated Clubs and Players. My sincere thanks for the support given by clubs and particularly the office bearers of our clubs whom I am aware spend many voluntary hours organizing their club each week. To all players and club supporters whom without you we do not have an Association, my thanks for your continued support of this great Association.

Season 2014-15 has concluded and your Board realizes there is a need to look at the way we structure our competition in the future if the Association is to survive.

To this end the Board has approached and has agreed that for season 2015-2016 there will be a combined FIRST GRADE competition with the Churches Association. The Board sees this as not only a positive step in making FIRST GRADE a strong competition but also a possibility of future engagement with the Churches in making both Associations viable for many years to follow. The Board is also in discussion with NSWCA in seeking ways to ensure the growth of our Association as we battle competition from other sports and issues relating to ground availability and ever mounting costs.

In conclusion once again I ask members to consider volunteering to become a Board Member in season 2015-2016. We are always looking for additional members particularly if you have been involved in sports administration as I am sure there must be members who can help us increase numbers and assure the future of the Association. I look forward to seeing you all on the park in 2015-2016.………….again my thanks for your continued support. I commend this report to the members.

Paul Brien President

9 Umpires report

On behalf of the Board of Management I would like to thank all the umpires for their dedication and assistance in making the 2014/2015 season a success. Umpiring can be a very difficult job and their position and decisions should be respected by all captains and players in the Association. I would like to personally thank the umpires named below who officiate in this Association: Geoff Brazel, Greg Leslie, Masud Rana, Jim Sheedy, John Walden and David Ward and a special thank you to Leigh Martin for umpiring our Martin Shield matches. We hope you will all be available to raising the finger once again for the upcoming summer season. Thanks once again for your help.

10 Representative Season Report

The Weather played a big part in this seasons Martin Shield, after winning our first match in a thriller and narrowly going down in the second round we needed a result in our last group match but unfortunately we didn't get the chance due to the weather washing out the days play. It was a disappointing end to what was going to be an exciting season with a number of the young members in the squad showing signs of true potential at this level.

Round 1 vs Fairfield-Liverpool

After losing the toss and being sent out to field, we managed to restrict the opposition to 97 after a magnificent spell of bowling by Adam Fulmer (4/16), Bill Saracoglu (2/18) and Ash Azhar (3/9). This was a hard pitch to bat on and our top order struggled with the new ball. It was only Rob Raffaele (29) who really handled the conditions at the top of the order. At 8-71 things weren’t looking good. In enters one of the many young guns we tried this year, under extreme pressure Cameron McKinlay (17 no) joined fellow young gun Nick Lochner (14 no) and both batted like veterans to take us home and ensure a good start to the season.

Round 2 vs Hawkesbury

Missing a couple of the regular members we brought in some new members to the squad who showed potential in our earlier trial matches. We won the toss and elected to bat first. Nic Lochner was promoted to opening the batting for us after his excellent display in the first round and boy he didn’t disappoint! Nic batted for most of the innings and was dismissed for 79, I was disappointed for Nic as he battled hard with Justin Smith (20) and deserved a Ton. The rest of the boys found it hard scoring against a well disciplined Hawkesbury bowling line up, we managed to score 154. I thought this was enough runs as the pitch was playing up a bit. Hawkesbury got off to a great start and at 1-70 I thought they are going to be hard to beat from here but our boys fought hard and worked their way into a winning position taking 6 wickets for 38 runs. Bill Saracoglu (3/67), Mitch Macbeth (2/13) and having them 7-108 BUT like we did in Round 1, Hawkesbury’s lower order batted well and got them out of jail. This was going to be the end for us as we didn’t get to play the final group game a fortnight later due to rain.

The weather was to play a big part in the quarter-finals, washing out that weekend as well. The eventual winners were Parramatta.

All was not lost for the rep season....

We put together a squad to go out to Bathurst for the annual MPSECA vs Bathurst battle for the plank. The plank has been missing from the MPSECA trophy cabinet for several years and I promised Association President Paul Brien, that before my time comes I will return the plank back to our cabinet….this was the year!

11 All Clubs were sent the invite but only members of both the Clovelly CC and Coogee Bay Rebels CC showed any interest, so off to Bathurst we went. This match was set up over the Australia Day long weekend, we set up camp and before we could crack open a twist top Captain Nic Lochner was at the cabin door with kit in hand and that was it, off we headed to the nets! (Come on Nic that took 4 hours to get here, the boys are thirsty).

After a short net session where we were joined by some locals who wished to show off their skills in and outside of the nets, we headed back to the cabins for a shower and off to the night life we disappeared!

Needless to say that the following morning there were no net sessions!! I’m pleased to say that all the boys were on their best behaviour throughout the weekend.

To the grudge match and what a match!!! I still now, after several months can’t believe what happened!!

Bathurst won the toss and elected to bat. After a steady start Bathurst lost a couple of wickets and slumped to be 4-44, some outstanding batting from a couple of young boys (17 and 19 years old) in the middle order got them to a respectful 194 from the 50 overs bowled. Grant McMillan (3/38), Luke O'Sullivan (2/33) were the pick of the bowlers. Once again our top order struggled as we collapsed to be 6/53, enter Jimmy (James) Salakas. After some lofty hitting Jimmy was run out for 77, I blame the night before for his run out! So there we were 9-168 (thanks to the heroic batting by lower order batsmen Sam Storer 18 and Luke O'Sullivan 17) still needing 27 for an unlikely win with Andy Orr and Grant McMillan at the crease. Some nice hitting from Grant and a beautiful square cut to the boundary by Mr Orr gets all of us out of our seats, we are close, we are real close, we can win this….last over and 8 runs are needed. First ball goes for 4, cracking shot Andy, then a dot ball, 2 runs off the next followed by two dot balls, last ball 2 runs needed......

What happens next?? The ball beats the bat, Grant (non strikers end) takes off for a single, the ball is in the keepers hands, we have got out of this with a tie, oh no it can’t be this is unbelievable, the umpire standing there with his arms wide apart, WIDE is the call!!!

Scenes of jubilation...The plank returns to Sydney

Just want to thank everyone that was part of the rep season, it was fun.

Cheers Tony Pengue

12 MPSECA 1st Grade Report

Clovelly (2) The Clovelly (2) boys turned the table on the Clovelly (1) team in the Grand Final taking it out with the narrowest of margins (1 run), perseverance pays off. Clovelly (2) finished in second position on the competition table but overcame Doncaster in the semi-final and then made up for losing the Grand Final to Clovelly (1) the previous season to take out the main prize. Main contributors with the bat for Clovelly (2) this season were Brad Parkes 257 runs @ 32.13, Simon Marti 238 runs @ 21.64, Jim Maroulis 198 runs @ 28.29 and Andy Scott 193 runs @ 27.57. With the ball Rino Tomasiello was again outstanding taking 37 wickets @ 16.97, he had assistance from Jim Maroulis 19 wkts @ 14.47 and Brad Parkes 15 wkts @ 21.80.

Clovelly (1) Clovelly (1) had another successful year finishing as Minor Premiers, defeating Coogee Bay Rebels (1) in the semi-final before just failing to snatch victory in the Grand Final by the odd run. Still they had many outstanding performances, run scorers included Michael Manna 405 runs @ 40.50, Robert Raffaele 298 runs @ 37.25, Louie Pengue 257 runs @ 25.70 and Mitch Macbeth 228 @ 20.73. Leading wicket takers were Danny Stavely 21 wickets @ 12.38, Billy Saracoglu 20 wkts @ 16.85, Adam Fulmer 16 wkts @ 18.19 and Marcus Hutchins 15 wkts @ 18.87.

Doncaster Doncaster had a very good season, finishing third on the competition ladder but fell to eventual Premiers Clovelly (2) in the semi-final. On their day they could have beaten any team in the competition and seem to be improving each year. Standout batsmen for Doncaster included Ashlee Azhar scoring 374 runs @ 37.40, Yves Silveira 297 runs @ 27.00, Matthew Hoenig 257 runs @ 23.36, Steven Towers 237 runs @ 33.86 and Michael Dunlea 208 runs @ 29.71. Leading the way with the ball were Ashlee Azhar capturing 36 wickets @ 13.75, Steven Towers 22 wkts @ 19.68 and Ben Hoenig 14 wkts @ 21.64.

Coogee Bay Rebels (1) The Rebels (1s) finished in fourth position on the table and had the formidable task of defeating Clovelly (1) in the semi-final which proved too much of an ask. However, Coogee Bay (1) had a solid season with some good victories along the way. Batting was their strength and they provided the two top run scorers in the grade, they were Chad Edwards with 480 runs @ 43.64 and Nic Lochner 451 runs @ 37.58. They were backed up by Jeff O’Sullivan 281 runs @ 28.10 and Cameron Bryant 279 runs @ 34.88. Wicket takers for Coogee Bay (1) were Luke O’Sullivan 16 wickets @ 15.06, David Hutchinson 13 wkts @ 12.85 and Chad Edwards 13 wkts @ 23.38.

13

Coogee Bay Rebels (2) Coogee Bay Rebels (2) were promoted to first grade when a vacancy came up after a couple of rounds and accounted for themselves very well throughout the season, playing a very competitive brand of cricket. Top runscorers for Coogee Bay (2) included Evan Madonis who scored 239 runs @ 19.92, James Salakas 236 runs @ 19.67 and Dan Munro 196 runs @ 28.00. Leading wicket takers were Evan Madonis 16 wickets @ 28.13, Stuart Kidd 14 wkts 13.71 and George Nittes 13 wkts @ 26.31.

Botany United Another bottom of the table finish for Botany 1st Grade but they did unearth some bright young new talent that will help them climb up that ladder in the near future. The team was still competitive but couldn’t sustain constant pressure for long enough during matches. Nathan Power 304 runs @ 21.71 and Vitan Bhavsar 244 runs @ 24.40 were Botany’s leading runscorers and they also performed well with the ball with Nathan taking 16 wickets @ 22.56 and Vitan taking 16 wkts @ 14.13 (including a hat trick). Veteran Gary Randall also did well with the ball in hand taking 13 wkts @ 24.31.

14 MPSECA 2nd Grade Report

Kingsford Apaches The Apache’s thoroughly deserved to win the 2nd Grade Premiership having performed well all season long and produced the goods in the Grand Final to defeat SRT in a hard fought match. David Waterson had an outstanding year with the bat scoring 593 runs @ 53.91, he was well supported in the run scoring by Luke Malpass 215 runs @ 30.71 and Stuart Branch 215 runs @ 23.89. The Apache’s wickets were shared around between Bryan Seymour 35 wickets @ 12.20, Patrick Foley 27 wkts @ 11.11, Blake Marsh 24 wkts @ 15.96 and Sujee Mampitiyarachchi 18 wkts @ 21.56.

SRT XI Promoted from 3rd Grade after a couple of rounds SRT made the transition to 2nd Grade quite easily as they soon got into their groove and performed well throughout the season to finish in second position on the competition ladder, defeat Clovelly in the semi-final before going down in a closely fought final against Kingsford Apaches. Their batting was well led by Abhishek Rao scoring 212 runs @ 30.29 and Sam Chinthakinda 181 runs @ 20.11. Leading wicket takers for SRT were Sujit Kadam taking 19 wickets @ 10.68 and Abhishek Rao 17 wkts @ 12.71.

Clovelly Clovelly had a strong season finishing in third position on the competition ladder before losing to SRT in the semi-final. Batting was definitely Clovelly’s strength with many outstanding performances which included Lawrence Wisdom 406 runs @ 33.83, Troy Isemonger 337 runs @ 30.64, Kris Baptista 320 runs @ 35.56, Justin Corner 301 runs @ 30.10 and Mark Isemonger 247 runs @ 24.70. Best with the ball for Clovelly were Justin Corner capturing 20 wickets @ 17.95 and Troy Isemonger 14 wkts @ 21.07.

Comenarra Comenarra were promoted to 2nd Grade this season and performed well with some good results during the season, they did qualify for the semi-finals only to go down to eventual premiers Kingsford Apaches. Leading run scorers for Comenarra included John McCormack 360 runs @ 27.69, Matthew Fox 283 runs @ 21.77 and James Stroud 248 runs @ 31.00. The main wicket takers for Comenarra were Patrick Bryant who claimed 23 wickets @ 13.52 and Daniel Ang with 18 wickets @ 17.56.

La Perouse At times during the season La Perouse played some impressive cricket and pulled off some excellent wins but probably some consistency was lacking over the full course of the season. Peter Cooley had a great season with bat and ball scoring his first ever century (136) and totalling 309 runs @ 30.90 and taking 20 wickets @ 7.35. Nathan Ardler was also amongst the run scorers with 213 runs @ 21.30 and Rhys Longbottom got among the wickets with 11 @ 15.82.

15

Rusty Shovel The Shovel struggled all season for player numbers and did extremely well to finish the season off as they did. Many times during the season they played short but still played a competitive brand of cricket with limited numbers. Hopefully next season will be a different story and their playing roster will increase. Rusty’s batting had good contributions from Beau Comerford scoring 229 runs @ 45.80 and Peter Kibble 172 runs @ 24.57. Stalwarts Ian Gabriel 24 wickets @ 22.08 and Allan Owens 17 wkts @ 19.65 were the standouts.

16 MPSECA 3rd Grade Report

Clovelly In a low scoring Grand Final Clovelly came out winners over the more fancied Captain Cook team to take out the 3rd Grade Premiership. Clovelly’s batting runs were shared around with no-one really dominating with the bat except for a couple of one-off appearances from David Weerden (204 ) and Damon Sharwood (141). Best performers with the bat were Jordan Marsden with 124 runs @ 41.33 and Jack McLoughlin 116 runs @ 23.20. Leading wicket takers for Clovelly included Jordan Marsden snaring 24 wickets @ 12.88, Cameron McKinlay 19 wkts @ 18.71 and John Buttler 14 wkts @ 18.71.

Captain Cook Dolphins Captain Cook finished minor premiers and had a close win the semi-final over UNSW before falling in a close match against Clovelly in the Grand Final. They had many stars with the bat over the season proper with some standout efforts coming from Mitch McDiarmid 557 runs @ 50.64, Max Silvester 466 runs @ 33.29, Tim Brennan 384 runs @ 24.00, Joseph Davis 319 runs @ 24.54 and Paul Elder 287 runs @ 57.40. The bowling department was well led by Mitch McDiarmid taking 37 wickets @ 10.89, Brandon Burgess 29 wkts @ 15.10 and Matthew Weeks 15 wkts @ 11.47.

Coogee Bay Rebels Coogee Bay finished 3rd on the competition table and went down to Clovelly in the semi-final. Their run scoring efforts were headed by Matthew Donovan with 386 runs @ 29.69, Matt Doppler 279 runs @ 46.50 and Graham Hosking 229 runs @ 20.82. With the ball in hand Liam Hinchcliffe led the way capturing 17 wickets @ 20.06 and he was assisted by Graham Hosking with 15 wkts @ 13.53.

UNSW ES FC UNSW finished 4th on the competition table and went down to Captain Cook in a very close semi-final match. When the UNSW team get their full complement of players on the field they are capable of beating most teams.

Doncaster Doncaster finished just outside the top 4 but put in some good performances throughout the season. Leading run scorers for Doncaster were Cameron Elliott with 274 runs @ 22.83 and Scott Cowper 214 runs @ 21.40. Starring with the ball for Donny were Matthew Tozer 21 wickets @ 17.05 and he was supported by Bill Morgan 14 wkts @ 26.00.

South Sydney Juniors A mixed season Souths Juniors, they put in some good performances but needed to be a bit more consistent over the full season. Their run scoring was shared around with the top performers being Aditiya Naik with 473 runs @ 43.00, Blaise Prentice-Davidson 341 runs @ 28.42, Michael Coutts 314 runs @ 28.55 and Rouf Hossain 267 runs @ 53.40. Leading wicket takers for Souths Juniors were Aditiya Naik 13 wkts @ 21.92 (this included a 9/21 effort in one innings) and Anik Ray 13 wkts @ 32.38. 17

Kingsford Apaches The Apaches began the season well but fell away in the second half of the season to finish in 7th position on the competition table. With the bat Apaches were best served by David Venn-Brown 255 runs @ 28.33 and Aleksandr Yap 233 runs @ 33.29. The leading wicket taker for the Apaches was Dereck Cameron who captured 9 wickets @ 32.67.

Komodo Dragons Komodo Dragons were a new team to join the MPSECA this season, they started with a couple of matches in 1st Grade before being placed in 3rd Grade for the remainder of the season. Lack of player numbers really affected the Dragons this season but hopefully with a full squad next season they will be a more formidable opponent. In the batting department Richie Paul had an excellent season scoring 377 runs @ 62.83, Jacob Gibbons also did well with the bat scoring 179 runs @ 44.75. With the ball it was again Richie Paul leading the way with 17 wickets @ 16.65, and he was supported by Jacob Gibbons with 11 wkts @ 27.09.

For the first time in many years the Botany club entered two teams in the competition with the 4th grade team being made up of a mixture of senior players and some youthful teenagers playing senior cricket for the first time. Botany had plenty of depth in their batting and bowling and this was a telling factor in their premiership success. Veteran Dave Choy led the way with the bat scoring 375 runs @ 93.75, he was well supported by Dimitri Magoulias 266 @ 53.20 and Gordon McClelland 189 @ 47.25. The bowling was led well by Pratik Patel taking 27 wickets @ an excellent average of 5.59, Gordon McClelland also shone with the ball in hand taking 22 wkts @ 12.86 and Dave Power chipped in with 17 wkts @11.82.

Captain Cook Dolphins

An excellent effort by the Captain Cook Dolphins to qualify for the Grand Final only to fall at the last hurdle against Botany. The Cook had many good performers with the bat which included captain Michael McDiarmid scoring 300 runs @ 23.08, Jamie Vickery 199 runs @ 18.09, Joe Nasr 197 runs @ 24.63 & Paul Stevens 187 runs @18.70. Among the Cook’s wicket takers were Paul Stevens 26 wickets @ 13.58, Kyle James 25 wkts @ 11.00 and Jamie Vickery 13 wkts @ 18.15.

Coogee Bay Rebels

Coogee Bay would consider themselves unlucky not to qualify for the Grand Final but they met a determined Captain Cook in the semi-final and went down in a close game. Coogee had many standout performers over the course of the season, among them were, in the batting, Luke Turner 444 runs @ 44.40, Graham Hughes 418 runs @ 29.86, Keiran Barker 389 runs @ 64.83 and Brendan Murphy 199 runs @ 99.50. With the ball Coogee were well served by Dean Burrows capturing 22 wickets @ 8.73, Laurie Chan 19 wkts @ 17.05, Luke Turner 18 wkts @ 15.28 and Gareth Hemmings 15 wkts @ 17.93.

South Sydney Juniors

Souths Juniors had a very good season qualifying for the semi-finals in 4th position before going down to Botany in that match. Leading run scorers for Souths were Andrew Plum with 261 runs @ 23.73, Craig James 205 runs @ 17.08, Matthew Trenear 200 runs @ 50.00 and Michael Cullen 191 runs @ 38.20. Leading wicket takers for Souths included Jack Thornton with 16 wickets @ 20.69, Peter Argaet 15 wkts @ 13.20 and Michael Cullen 14 wkts @ 15.14.

Clovelly

Clovelly just failed to qualify for the semi-finals due to a lower quotient score than Souths but did enjoy a good season at any rate. Their batting strength was well led by Craig Fussell who totalled 308 runs @ 34.22, he was supported by Allan Leplaw 217 runs @ 18.08 and Girshwyn Nyker 201 runs @ 18.27. In the bowling department David Leplaw snared 19 wickets @ 13.68, others to take wickets were Allan Leplaw 17 wkts @ 11.65 and Kubilay Yolbir 15 wkts @ 16.13.

19

Kingsford Apaches

Kingsford Apaches may have finished at the bottom of the table but it wasn’t through lack of effort or player numbers that have dogged them over the last couple of seasons. Tim Booth led the way with the bat scoring 320 runs @ 29.09, Tim was well supported by Grant Wheeler who scored 287 runs @ 57.40. Wicket takers for the Apaches were Hayden Delaney 15 wickets @ 24.27, Tim Booth 14 wkts @ 16.86 and Lachlan John 9 wkts @ 43.56.

34 Treasurer’s Report

A modest surplus was achieved in 2014/15 which was ahead of expectations. Most costs and income were similar to the previous year, with the additional expense of the Bathurst trip and some home representative fixtures expected to be offset in lower costs next year. Thanks to all the clubs for their prompt payment of all invoices. The association continues to be in a sound financial position.
