The third edition of the Prix Versailles has been launched. The Prize recognizes exceptional architecture for commercial edi技ces and 2017 marks the second international edition of the prize, which has been endorsed by the International Union of Architects and UNESCO. Submissions to the pre-selection process may be submitted to the prize secretariat on the website between now and 11: 59 pm CET on 31 January 2017. Candidates in the pre-selection phase will enter into six regions (Central America, South America and the Caribbean, North America, Central Asia and the Northeast, South Asia and the Paci技c and Europe) adjudicated by six di⟬�erent juries, which will attribute prizes in four categories: Shops and Stores, Hotels and Restaurants and most recently, Shopping Malls. Regular work A.1 continuous expert consultancy on competitions, awards, regulations of Member Sections A.2 Regulatory work, elaboration of ICC help documents B. Promotion of UIA competitions and Competition culture C. Professionalisation efforts D. Special projects A.1.1. CONCULTANCY COMPETITIONS 2017-2021 (see overview in Annex 1) ICC consultancy consists in advising on the competition type, the definition of the task, the evaluation criteria, the deliverables, formal and procedural aspects, the composition of the jury, key paramenters of the mandate in view. Condition for UIA endorsement is the conformity to the UNESCO Regulations and UIA best practice recommendations but also the respect of UIA aims (SDG’s and holistic approach) and fair conditions. Guarantee for fair conduct fair conditions for the competitors and the winner makes UIA endorsement to a quality label.     Press release 18.12.17 World-Class Architecture Competition comes to Liverpool Prix Versailles 2018 launched to inspire a sustainable city: Designs for the World Heritage Docks and a new Stadium in Liverpool The prestigious Prix Versailles competition for students of architecture around the world will focus on the city of Liverpool for 2018. The 2018 focus for the prize has today been announced in Paris, with the purpose of designing a new Stadium in Liverpool and land in the Central and Northern Docks of the World Heritage Site Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City. This is the first time that the Prix Versailles has decided to offer an award based on a particular modern city, and will set a precedent for future competitions. In partnership with the International Union of Architects, the competition will attract submissions from students at universities and schools all over the world. What is unusual about the Competition is that the projects are required to be creative, to respect the exceptional character of the sites, and to be at the cutting edge of technology and environmental performance. This competition is also supported by UNESCO - the idea to focus on Liverpool came out of recent visits to the city by UNESCO representatives, arranged by Engage Liverpool CIC, as part of a series of seminars concerned with the future of Liverpool’s endangered World Heritage Site Status. Honored with the prestigious architecture and design accolade at Prix Versailles 2019 for Central and Northeast Asia in the Hotels category, Morpheus is the world’s first free-form exoskeleton high-rise designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid. The Prix Versailles celebrates inspiration, progress and inclusion with the mission to transform architecture and design into a tool for sustainable ecological, societal and cultural development.
