Thanksgiving Thank you for all my hands can hold, In Loving Memory apples red, melons gold, reddish pears, ice so cold, and soft kittens. Thank you for all my eyes can see, windy rivers, grass so green, tiny turtles, colours like green and butterflies that fly so high. Thank you for all my ears can hear, whistling wind, singing birds, cats mewing, dogs barking, and my mom’s singing. Janice Darlene Armstrong was born March 17, 1955 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, the third of four daughters born to Jack and Bernie Armstrong. Jan grew up in Moose Jaw, The Christian Funeral of receiving her education at King George Elementary and Central Collegiate High School, graduating in 1973. Growing up, Jan acquired a love of music - a trait she gained from her Janice Boychuk mother and grandmother and later passed on to her own three daughters. Jan started her working career in Winnipeg at Manitoba Telephones. She was proud of a story she often told -------------------- that, while working there, she met Burton Cummings of the famous 1970’s rock music group Celebration of Life Service “Guess Who”. Burton had his phone cut off for lack of payment while being on the road. Jan offered little sympathy and just suggested that he have someone else pay the bill for him. Jan Friday, January 28, later started working for Bank of Montreal in Winnipeg, Calgary then Moose Jaw where a 2011 at 2:00pm telephone romance began with Ron who worked for Bank of Montreal in Assiniboia, a Prairie Harvest romance which would blossom into much more. Part of her duties included calling Ron on a Christian Life Centre daily basis for business. Jan laughed when she told of how her girlfriends would gather around to listen to the conversations that often included a little monkey business instead of official Yorkton, Saskatchewan business. Jan and Ron were married in 1987 and soon after moved to North Battleford where Officiated By Sarah and Kristin were born. After a short stay in Saskatoon in 1993, they moved to Yorkton in 1994 where Jenna was welcomed into the family. Pastor Des Klingspon Jan’s passion for music and God continued to grow. She was part of several churches Tributes and called Prairie Harvest home. She loved singing and looked forward to any occasion to do (Jan’s sisters) so. While her children were young, Jan began working at pre-schools. After her children had Jackie Armstrong Shirley Reid Kathy Carey moved on to elementary school, she worked at Zebra X-ing and was known as “The Singing Jan’s daughters Waitress”. Later, Jan became a teacher’s aide with Christ the Teacher School Division. She absolutely loved her students and glowed when she talked of their daily activities and Sarah Kristin Jenna accomplishments. While enjoying the family cabin at Madge Lake, Jan began her involvement Special Music in the Madge Lake Bible Camp. Jan provided unconditional love to her daughters, ‘The More I Seek You’ & ‘Jesus Loves Me’ – Captivating encouraging them in all their activities. She never missed a music recital, Christmas program or Women’s Group play and was always there with a hug, kiss and a “well done”. In 2006, Jan was first diagnosed with cancer that returned in 2010. While battling ‘Safe’ ‘I Belong’ ‘His Eye is on the Sparrow’ – Beauty the disease, she kept a positive attitude and bright smile, looking forward to spending time for Ashes with family and friends. Jan’s love of music continued to the end. Her face would light up Interment during the nightly lullabies or songs that were sung by her friends. Jan passed away January 24, 2011 surrounded by the love of family and friends. Garden of St. Mark Jan is survived by her loving husband Ron, their three daughters Sarah, Kristin and Yorkton Memorial Gardens Jenna. She is also survived by her mother Bernie Armstrong of Moose Jaw, sister Jackie Casket Bearers Armstrong of Moose Jaw, sister Shirley Reid of Millet, Alberta, sister Kathy Carey (John) of Randy Boychuk Marty Tressel Jesse Tressel Moose Jaw as well as her four nephews.
