American Hospital Association | CHICAGO 2 EXECUTIVE DIALOGUE | Sponsored by Nuance | 2020 AMBIENT INTELLIGENCE Burnout is a significant challenge for health care organizations, especially in rural hospitals that struggle with recruiting new clinicians. The loss of a single provider in a rural hospital can have tremendous impact on patient care, creating a strain on other clinicians as well as financial implications. Emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can help organi- zations create more value for their patients and communities by converting time-consum- ing, labor-intensive and often inefficient tasks and functions into actionable information to produce better outcomes. This executive dialogue examines AI technologies, including ambient clinical intelli- gence and listening systems. It explores how these systems can transcribe a conversation between a doctor and patient and upload key portions of it into a medical record, alleviat- ing clinician burnout by reducing administrative and regulatory requirements and allowing clinicians more time with patients. It also explores current barriers to AI adoption and how organizations can achieve clinician support and buy-in.

  • 2020 Clinical Indicators Report 2019/2020 Results
2020 Clinical Indicators Report 2019/2020 Results The Clinical Indicators Report features comparative provider performance on measures of clinical quality and affordability. P.O. Box 1309 Minneapolis, MN 55440-1309 healthpartners.com November 2020 Dear friends and colleagues, Welcome to the HealthPartners 2020 Clinical Indicators Report. This report continues our commitment to the Triple Aim of improving health, experience and cost and the transparent reporting of meaningful measures that refl ect the quality of care delivered to our members and patients by our community of providers. During the years this report has been distributed, we have seen consecutive year-over-year improvement in quality measures due to the impressive work by provider groups focused on quality and eff ectiveness of care. However, there is still much work to be done. Your partnership and commitment to achieving the Triple Aim in the everyday care of your patients has a signifi cant impact on our members, their families and our communities. The goal of these measures is to align with and support eff orts that are important to our community and the overall health of the population. This year we have removed several measures that were either retired or are made public- ly available through other organizations we collaborate with including Minnesota Community Measurement and the Healthcare Eff ectiveness Data and Information Set. The Clinical Indicators may be combined with other local and national sources to create a broad list of quality measures that refl ect better care for our members and patients and improved outcomes for the populations we serve. This report would not be possible without the trust, engagement and partnership of all the provider groups that care for our members.
