The Department presented Cash Awards of a total of Rs. 90 lakhs to the Rio Paralympic medallists and Rs. 28.5 lakh to 19 members of the Indian Blind Cricket team under Awareness Generation and Publicity (AGP) scheme. The felicitation programme was held in the august presence of the Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Mr. Thaawarchand Gehlot who was also the Chief Guest of the programme. Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) Mr. Vijay Goel presided over the function. Minister of State for Planning (Independent Charge), Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and President of Paralympic Committee of India Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh, Ministers of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Mr. Ramdas Athawale and Mr. Krishan Pal Gurjar also graced the occasion. The Department presented Cash Awards of a total of Rs 90 lakhs to the Rio Paralympic medallists and Rs 28.5 lakh to 19 members of the Indian Blind Cricket teamunder Awareness Generation and Publicity (AGP) scheme. July 27, 2021 – Tuesday Key Developments Govt prepares portal to speed up Rs 2.5 trn-plus asset monetisation drive The government has developed an asset monetisation dashboard for monitoring real-time progress of its ambitious Rs 2.5 trillion-plus pipeline, and providing visibility to investors.The portal has been prepared as the government tries to provide a one-stop shop to investors keen on taking over assets of government departments and ministries. The exercise is similar to the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) which seeks to invite private sector participation in the infrastructure sector. Policy think tank NITI Aayog has finalised the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) of potential brownfield infrastructure assets. The monetisation pipeline has been created for a four-year period from financial year 2021-22 to 2024-25.The NMP will serve as a roadmap for the asset monetization of various brownfield infrastructure assets across sectors including roads, railways, aviation, power, oil and gas, and warehousing, the parliament was informed. https://www.business-standard.com/article/economy-policy/govt-prepares-portal-to-speed-up-rs-2-5-trn-plus- asset-monetisation-drive-121072600903_1.html Nirmala Sitharaman introduces IBC (Amendment) Bill 2021 in Lok Sabha Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha to replace an ordinance that amended the insolvency law.The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was introduced amid Opposition ruckus over various issues.Sitharaman is in charge of both finance and corporate affairs ministries. The ordinance to amend the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) was promulgated on April 4, whereby a pre- packaged resolution process for stressed micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) was introduced under the Code. -

India at 62nd Position on WEF’s Inclusive Development Index India ranks 62nd among emerging economies on the Inclusive Development Index, falling from its last year’s ranking of 60th, according to a report released on Jan. 22 by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum. • The rank is also much below that of its neighbors, with China taking the 26th spot while Pakistan is at 47th place. • Norway is once again the world’s most inclusive advanced economy while Lithuania tops the list of emerging economies. Points to remember • The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Swiss nonprofit foundation, based in Cologny, Geneva, Switzerland. • The Forum is best known for its annual meeting at the end of January in Davos. • It was founded in 1971. Klaus Schwab is the executive chairman of WEF. 3. India fifth most attractive market for investments: PwC survey India has emerged as the fifth most attractive market for investments and the optimism over global economic growth is at a record level, a survey of CEOs by global consultancy PwC said. • Around 46 per cent of global CEOs consider the US as one of the three most important countries for growth, followed by China (33 per cent) and Germany (20 per cent) at second and third places, respectively. -
