2015 MSA Formula, Certified by FIA, Powered by Ford EcoBoost Championship Information Bulletin pre-ROCK_Ref. 14_MSAF August 28 th 2015 1. Rounds 22, 23 and 24 Rockingham Circuit. 4-6 September. 1.1 Logistics Timetable below; full timetable and MSA Formula schedule at end of bulletin, along with Final Instructions and track diagram. PLEASE NOTE: There is strictly no access to the Paddocks on Wednesday, September 2. Our teams doing the General Test on Tuesday need to put vehicles by the main entry security gate on the gravel until MSO are ready for them. Cars may be prepared here. Nothing can be left in the Inner Paddock – an event takes place there on Wednesday. One team (not ours) who selfishly left their vehicle in Paddock 2 at Knockhill on the Tuesday night (despite being told not to) caused MSO major problems - they lost more than two hours trying to work round it and had severe difficulties parking up other teams. Any vehicles that do not have Paddock passes will be shown into the Competitors’ Car Parks by circuit security. It will be possible to enter the circuit via the Birchington Road/Steel Road Roundabout (Shelton Road entrance) on both Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6. This gate should be open from 06.00hrs. See map and traffic information (pages 9 and 10 below). 2.3 Teams exit from the circuit: Transporters and large vehicles from the Outer Paddock can leave from the start of the third BTCC race (16.40) as usual but the circuit will stop those vehicles from leaving the Outer Paddock between 17.10 and 18.00 to ease the clearance of the public car parks. The paddocks must be totally cleared by the end of Sunday, September 6. 2.4 Pit Lane access Friday, September 4 There is strictly no access to the main pit lane for BTCC vehicles during the test sessions on Friday – however teams will be permitted to push their cars into the Cold Pit Lane as long as the Support Races have space for their pit trolleys during their sessions. 3 Important Information: 3.1 Pit Lane: Support Race cars are not permitted to drive down the Cold Pit Lane (the area between the garages and the small concrete wall in the pit lane). The only time they should be in the Cold Pit Lane is when they cross it from the Assembly Area to the pit lane during the Meeting (and from the pit lane to the gate next to Garage 36 during the Test Day). 3.2 Pit Lane Equipment All large equipment necessary for use in the pit lane must be kept against the wall (pit lane side) separating the pit lane from the Cold Pit Lane when not in use. www.msaformula.com 3.3 Competitors’ Car Parks: The Competitors Car Park for Support Races is over the road from & opposite the roadway leading to the Support Race Paddock (not in the Paddock or on the gravel directly in front of it!) in Blue Zone VIP Parking 2. The circuit advises entering via the Birchington Road/Steel Road Roundabout route (Shelton Road entrance) on Sunday, September 6, for easiest access to this car park. All private cars, crew buses, vans etc. should be parked there. No cars unless vital to the running of the meeting will be permitted access to the paddocks. 3.4 Live Television: PLEASE NOTE: Due to the demands of the live ITV broadcast, the event timetable on Sunday is flexible to allow for any unforeseen circumstances on the day. Therefore start times, particularly for the BTCC races, may change at short notice and teams/competitors will be notified by event officials if/when that happens. 3.5 Support Race Pit Lane Entry / Exit and re-fuelling during testing: Entry for Support Race pit lane equipment for the race weekend, including the Friday test day, is via the gap into the pit lane between Garages 12 and 12a. Teams must approach that gap using the back access road behind the BTCC paddock and then turn left when opposite the gap (near the entrance to the Scrutineering Bay) – they must not go through the middle of the BTCC paddock! Race car entry into the pit lane for the entire event ( including the test day) is via the Assembly Area at the back of Garage 1 (again cars should approach that area using the back access road behind the BTCC paddock ensuring a roadway is left clear for emergency vehicle access to the Med Centre). Race cars should not be driven through the BTCC paddock and should NOT be driven in the Cold Pit Lane – they should be pushed if it is necessary to be in the Cold Pit Lane! Exit for Support Race pit lane equipment for all three days is through the gap next to Garage 36. Re-fuelling during testing (if necessary) should only take place in the Cold Pit Lane in front of garages 1 and 2 and teams must ensure they have fire extinguishers with them during re-fuelling. All Support Race large pit equipment should be in the Cold Pit Lane next to the wall, not next to the front of the garages. 3.6 Ticket Collection Point: Rockingham will operate a ticket collection point (details on the map attached with this Bulletin). This will be open from 06.00hrs on both Saturday and Sunday. Any tickets / passes left at the Ticket Collection point should be in envelopes clearly labelled with both the recipient's name and team name, contact phone number. 4 Circuit Specific Information: 4.1 Please note it is not permitted to drive any pins or stakes into the Paddock surface. A fine of £100 plus reinstatement costs may be levied by the circuit for each and every breach of this rule. A limited supply of concrete blocks is available from the circuit. 4.2 The Fire Lane at the rear of the Pit Garages must be kept totally clear at all times. 4.3 Pedestrian access to the Centre Paddock from the car parks and Outer Paddock is via the two pedestrian tunnels. The first, the South Tunnel, runs underneath the exit of the pit lane (enter near Stairway 3), is one-way for entering the paddock (during busy periods only). The second, the North Tunnel, runs under Turn 4 (or the entry to the pit lane) and operates both ways. www.msaformula.com 4.4 Empty Carless fuel cans should be left neatly in the fuel container compound which will be next to the waste oil store in the Support Race paddock. Waste oil should be disposed of in a proper manner using the waste oil drums in the Support Race Paddock. Please ensure that all waste oil is placed in the waste oil facilities and not put into empty Carless fuel cans (along with any other substances) as these incur high costs to recycle and the costs will be passed on to all teams in your Championship. 4.5 All used tyres must be removed from the venue at the end of the event.
