Thank you very much for sharing the journey of 5678 Showtime as we travelled across Canada, and USA. It was dance that brought us together, but it is the friendships that will keep us together. Almost one quarter of a million dancers, par- ents, and teachers have walked through our doors since our first competition June 24, 1994 in estW Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are pleased to announce our 22nd season. It will be a new era, and as I gradually step back from my role as direc- tor to pursue other adventures in life, I will always remember the memories that we shared together. A new generation with a bright vision for the future will bring 5678 Showtime to a level beyond my wildest dreams. I will watch with antici- pation and awe the new direction of 5678 Showtime. However, for now, my only wish is to cherish these moments with you in spirit, my friends and family. Mona D’Amours, Director 1994 - 2014 bienvenue ... Merci beaucoup d’avoir partagé l’aventure de 5678 Showtime qui nous a amenés à travers le Canada et aux USA. C’était la danse qui nous a réunis, mais ce sont les amitiés qui vont nous tenir ensemble. Près d’un quart de million de danseurs, parents et enseignants ont marché à travers nos portes depuis notre première compétition le 24 Juin 1994, à West Vancouver, Colombie-Britannique, Canada. Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer notre 22e saison. Ce sera une nouvelle époque, et comme je quitte mon rôle peu à peu en tant que directeur pour poursuivre d’autres aventures dans la vie, je me souviendrai toujours des souvenirs que nous avons partagés ensemble. Une nouvelle génération avec une vision claire pour l’avenir apportera 5678 Showtime à un niveau dépassant tous mes rêves les plus fous. Je vais regarder avec impatience et admiration la nouvelle direc- tion de 5678 Showtime. Toutefois, pour l’instant, mon seul souhait est de chérir ces moments avec vous en esprit, mes amis et ma famille. Melissa has worked with such notables as Emmy award winning choreographers Mia Michaels, Stacey Tookey, Mandy Moore, Travis Wall & Teddy Forance. She’s toured and performed with such artists as Nelly Furtado, PSY, Teagan & Sara, Mia Martina & Victoria Duffield. She danced at the Pan Am games in Mexico, TV Shows such as Murdoch Mysteries & Beauty & the Beast, the Nick Carter Tour in America, the MMVAS & the Juno Awards. She’s performed all over Italy, Croatia, Spain & Poland. She has also been tagged as one of the most inspirational workshop teachers in today’s professional industry. MATT MARR is a Canadian Dancer and aspiring Actor who worked his way into becoming a successful professional dancer based out of Los Angeles. Matt danced on the television shows ‘Glee’, ‘Russell Peters Christmas Special’, ‘Warehouse 13’, ‘Bombgirls’, ‘The Marilyn Dennis Show’, premiere of ‘Summer In The City’ directed by ‘Randy Johnson’ Most notably to date, Matt will be appearing as ‘Danny’, a lead role in the upcoming Dance Feature Film “East Side Story” Produced by David Winters which will feature 9 of American and Canadian SYTYCD’s top All- Stars. Matt made his way into the Top 3 spot of the fourth and final season of SYTYCD Canada. SHANE SIMPSON originally from Toronto, Canada, began his journey in the performing arts early in life. By the age of 12, he portrayed Young Simba in the Mirvish Production of “The Lion King”. Landing a spot on CTV’s hit show SYTYCD Canada jump started his career. You can spot him in several Music Videos, Commercials, Television Shows and Films; most notably Hair- spray, and Disney’s Descendants. Most recently he performed live with recording artist Janet Jackson and also performed with other talented recording artists such as Justin Bieber, Arianna Grande, Lady Gaga, PSY, Jully Black, Serena Ryder, Victoria Duffield and Tyler Medeiros. convention 12 & Under -     MIA MARTINA Single: „Latin Moon” Gib dem noch immer wirkenden Einfluss von Footloose die Schuld, aber Kleinstädte sind nun mal nicht gerade Hochburgen des Dance. Wenn sich neue Stars ihren Weg auf den Floor grooven, dann sind das normalerweise Kinder der Großstadt-Clubs wie Lady Gaga. Aber diese Regel hat in Mia Martina jetzt ihre Ausnahme gefunden. Die sinnliche Nachwuchs-Stimme heizt dem Akkordeon-durchsetzten Platin-Remix von „Stereo Love“ genauso ein, wie dem vergoldeten Nachfolger „Latin Moon“. Mia ist in St. Ignace, New Brunswick geboren und aufgewachsen – einem französischsprachigen 500-Seelen-Dorf mit akadischen Wurzeln an der Ostküste Kanadas. Martina begann schon als Dreikäsehoch auf den Fahrten zwischen ihrem Zuhause und der „nächsten“ Stadt Moncton zu singen, wo sie Musik- und Stimmunterricht bekam. „Ich wollte ein Star sein“, lacht sie. Aber für ein Mädchen aus der Kleinstadt schien das ein Luftschloss zu sein. „Ich verdrängte es, damit ich mich mit etwas anderem beschäftigen konnte.“ Aber das Schicksal hatte andere Pläne. In addition to purely discriminatory based language, this project also investigated the ways in which race, gender, sexuality, and ability were employed in popular music. Two data sets were analysed qualitatively and quantitatively to find that private and public radio stations in Canada are more likely to censor discriminatory or explicit content than their community station counterparts. Further, discriminatory language based on gender, is not only more likely to be contained in popular music, but it is also less likely to be censored in comparison to language based on racial or sexual orientation based discrimination. The first data set included 485 songs from the Billboard Hot 100 charts between 1985 and 2015. The second data set included 2818 songs from a six-month period (May-October 2015) of the top twenty charts from 27 different radio stations in Canada, including private, public, and community stations.
