ƒ Mauritius once maintained one of the richest reptile diversities in the World ƒ Unique reptile dependent ecosystem ƒ Habitat destruction and introduction of non-natives has mostly ƒ This need for translocation has been repeated by many since: destroyed the unique ecosystem ƒ Hartley, Bloxam, Tonge, Bullock, Arnold, Cheke, Merton, Bell ƒ The loss > 60% of reptile from the main island
