  • February 2021 – Worcester Warriors V Newcastle Falcons
Decision of PRL Panel regarding the appropriate points allocation following the cancellation of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby Match between Worcester Warriors and Newcastle Falcons. Date: Friday 19th February 2021 Panel: Andy Higginson (PRL Chairman) Darren Childs (PRL CEO) Phil Winstanley (PRL Rugby Director) Summary of Panel’s Decision 1. As a result of Newcastle Falcons’ inability to fulfil a fixture as a result of Covid-19 and the cancellation of the Round 10 Gallagher Premiership match between Worcester Warriors and Newcastle Falcons, Worcester Warriors shall be awarded the win and 4 league points and Newcastle Falcons shall be deemed to have lost the match but awarded 2 league points. The match score shall be recorded as 0–0. Background to the match cancellation 2. On Saturday 13th February 2021, Newcastle Falcons was unable to fulfil its fixture obligations under Premiership Regulations for its Round 9 match against Northampton Saints. The reasons for this were due to Covid-19 and are set out in the PRL Panel Decision dated Saturday 13th February 2021. 3. On Monday 15th February 2021, further testing was carried out which presented 3 additional positive tests. 4. In light of these additional positive tests following on from those returned in the previous week, the Professional Rugby Testing Oversight Group and Public Health England are of the opinion that these tests amount to an outbreak and that further transmission cannot be ruled out. Therefore, all rugby activity for the Newcastle Falcons squad should be suspended for 10 days from the last contact between the squad on Wednesday 10th February 2021, due to the incubation period of the virus.

Council leads the Capital in support for troubled families Work by Achieving for Children’s social workers, on behalf of Richmond Council, to support troubled families in the borough has been praised highly by the Government. Phase two of the Troubled Families programme was launched in 2015. The aim of the programme is for Councils and local partner organisations to work together with local families who have multiple problems including crime, anti-social behaviour, truancy, unemployment, mental health problems and domestic abuse. The aim is to support families using local interventions and help ‘turn their lives around’. This could include getting children back into school, reducing youth crime and anti-social behaviour, putting adults on a path back into work and reducing the high costs these families place on the public purse. The Government has identified 650 families in Richmond that need specific support over a five-year period.

ANNUAL REPORT 2018|19 Homeless Rugby CIC Homeless Rugby CIC ANNUAL REPORT 2018|19 Foreword As Homeless Rugby continues to grow, so too does the number of people involved, not least the team of amazing patrons! Sharing their rugby knowledge, experiences and reach has helped us continue to grow our profile across the rugby community. On the Pitch “We have been working hard over the past year to strengthen our existing teams, increasing the impact of the coaching and benefits gained by players on and off the pitch. We’ve had players progress from novice, to leading training sessions, showing tangible progress on the pitch that has led to personal triumphs for players off it.” Neil Back MBE - England, British and Irish Lions, Leicester Tigers, Nottingham RUFC Off the Pitch “Increasing number of Homeless Rugby teams across the rugby community has brought increasing challenges. By investing time and resources over the past 12 months we are striving to make sure players are protected, volunteers are supported and our partners are engaged to ensure we can sustain existing and grow new opportunities across the rugby playing world.” Simon Shaw MBE - England, British and Irish Lions, Wasps, Toulon, Bristol Growing Forward “2019 is another massive year for rugby, with some big fixtures and events on the horizon. • PLAYER PATHWAY GUIDANCE: U18s CB to Centres of Excellence 2017/18
PLAYER PATHWAY GUIDANCE: U18s CB to Centres of Excellence 2017/18 RFU Women and Girls Player Pathway CB rugby plays an integral part in the identification and development of female rugby players and is a vitally important part of the pathway. Through involvement in the CB programme not only will more players have access to the player pathway but more players will receive high quality coaching and increased playing opportunities. The CB programme should be seen as a step up from club rugby. At this stage of the player pathway there is a large focus on potential rather than performance as it is recognized that for the vast majority of the players CB rugby will be the first selective environment and they will not be anywhere near the finished article. When coaches are nominating players for Centre of Excellence trials a players potential should be considered alongside the performance elements of the selection criteria. Nomination of Players from U18 CB Rugby to Centre of Excellence Assessment Days This is a very important part of the RFU Women and Girls player pathway and the CB coaches play a lead role in the nomination process. Players should be assessed during training and in matches using the Assessment Criteria on the next page. Coaches are not expected to assess players on every aspect of the selection criteria and should use their coaching experience to make an informed decision based on the evidence they see during all sessions and matches. The Performance Pathway Officers (PPOs) are available as support in this process but the CB coaches are expected to carry out the assessment process and final nominations should be submitted by CB managers by Friday 8th December 2017.
