Daric Barton • Homered in the fifth inning April 17 at Los Angeles to snap a career-high 76-game homerless streak…it was his first home run since Oct. 1, 2010 against Seattle…the home run also snapped a 72-game homerless streak as a first baseman, which was second longest in Oakland history…the record is 75 by Mike Hegan from July 6, 1971 to Aug. 16, 1973. • Was batting .198 with one home run and four RBI in 37 games when he was optioned to Sacramento June 2.

Jerry Blevins • Had his career-high 10.1-inning scoreless streak dating back to last season snapped April 7 against Seattle when Saunders homered in the sixth inning.

Dallas Braden • Was placed on the 15-day disabled list March 28 as he continues his recovery from left shoulder surgery. • Was transferred to the 60-day disabled list April 22.

Yoenis Céspedes • Made his Major League debut March 28 against Seattle in Tokyo with a start in center field… doubled off Felix Hernandez to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning for his first ML hit. • Hit his first ML home run in the seventh inning March 29 against Seattle in Tokyo, a two-run shot off Shawn Kelley. • Homered in three consecutive games from March 29 to April 7…became the third player since 1918 to homer in three of his first four Major League games (Trent Oeltjen, ARI 2009 and Mike Jacobs, NYM 2005)…is the ninth player with at least three home runs in his first four games (Jacobs had 4)…the previous fastest an Oakland Athletic reached three career home runs was seven games by Kurt Abbott in 1993 and Mitchell Page in 1977. • Had multiple RBI games in each of those contests…since 1918, he is the first Athletic and ninth Major Leaguer with three multiple RBI games over his first four career games (last: Wladimir Bal- entien, 2006-07). • Struck out at least once in each of his first eight games, which is an Oakland record to start a career… the previous mark was six (Chris Carter, 2010; Brooks Conrad, 2008; Travis Buck, 2007)…matched the longest streak by an Athletic since 1918 (Troy Herriage, 1956; Norm Bass, 1961). • Hit his fourth home run April 18 at Los Angeles in his 12th game…since 1918, that is the fastest a player has reached four career home runs in Athletics history…the previous best was by Brian Lesher, who did it in 14 games in 1996. • Did not have a putout a April 25 against Chicago, becoming the first A’s outfielder without a putout in a game of 14 or more innings since Stan Javier on May 30, 1988 against New York. • Was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 12 retroactive to May 7 with a muscle strain in his left hand…went 3 for 9 (.333) on a three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento from May 28 to 30 and was reinstated from the DL June 1.

Bartolo Colón • Was on his 13th career Opening Day roster and is in his 15th season in the majors. • Made each of his first three starts against Seattle to become the first pitcher in Oakland history to make three consecutive starts against one team in the same season without missing a turn in the rotation.

Ryan Cook • Became the third pitcher in Athletics franchise history to record four strikeouts in an inning April 27 at Baltimore (Blake Stein, 1998; Erik Hiljus, 2001). • Did not allow a run over his first 21 games and 23.0 innings…that was the longest season-opening scoreless streak by a player on the Athletics Opening Day roster since at least 1918…the previous high was 21.0 innings by Ale Kellner in 1953…had a career-high 24.0 inning scoreless streak dating back to September 28, 2011.

Collin Cowgill • Had a career-high eight-game hitting streak from May 26 to June 5 (13 for 31, .419)

Coco Crisp • Was the A’s 13th different Opening Day starter in left field in the last 13 years…had 203 career starts in left entering the season, but none since October 2, 2005. • Committed his first error since April 25, 2011 on April 7 against Seattle, snapping a 116-game error- less streak…that streak was seventh longest by an outfielder in Oakland history.

Fautino De Los Santos • Was on the A’s Opening Day roster and compiled a 3.00 ERA in six relief appearances before he was optioned to Sacramento, April 25. • Did not retire a batter over his final three outings before his option (5 h, 2 ,r 1 er, 2 bb).

Joey Devine • Was placed on the 15-day disabled list March 28 retroactive to March 24…underwent “Tommy John” surgery on his right elbow April 10… Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery in Pensacola, Fla., which included an ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, an ulnar nerve transposition and a debridement of the flexor tendon…also had “Tommy John” surgery on the same elbow April 21, 2009. • Was transferred to the 60-day DL May 15.

Josh Donaldson • Was on the A’s Opening Day roster but hit just .094 in nine games before he was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento April 23. • Made nine starts, all at third base, during his first stint…his Major League experience prior to this season included seven games at catcher and two at first base. • Was recalled May 12 and snapped a career-high tying 0 for 17 streak with his eighth inning double May 14 at Los Angeles (also May 1-13, 2010). • Went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBI May 18 at San Francisco…the hits, doubles and RBI were all career highs. • Drew his first walk of the season June 13 at Colorado, snapping a streak of 30 consecutive games without a walk dating back to September 22, 2010…that was the longest streak by an Athletic since Scott Hemond had a 31-game streak from May 3 to July 2, 1994…it was his first walk since Sep- tember 19, 2010 at Minnesota. • Was batting .182 in 19 games during his second stint with the A’s when he was optioned to Sacra- mento June 21.

Sean Doolittle • Was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento June 4 and made his major League debut June 5 against Texas (1.1 ip, 3 so)…struck out the first three batters he faced…the last A’s pitcher to strike out the first three batters he faced in his career was Blake Stein on May 10, 1998 against Chicago.

Pedro Figueroa • Was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento April 21 and made his Major League debut that night against Cleveland…tossed a scoreless ninth and his only base runner (Cunningham walk) was erased on a double play. • Was optioned to Sacramento May 22 after posting a 2.00 ERA with nine walks in 9.0 innings in eight games. • Returned to Oakland June 17 and tossed 3.0 scoreless innings that day against San Diego before he was optioned back to Sacramento June 21.

Brian Fuentes • Recorded his 200th career save May 2 at Boston to become the sixth left-handed reliever in Major League history to reach the 200 plateau (Franco, Wagner, Myers, Righetti, Lyle).

Graham Godfrey • Was on the A’s Opening Day roster and went 0-3 with a 5.06 ERA in three starts before he was optioned to Sacramento April 21. • Recalled May 22 and went 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA in two games, one start, before he was sent back to Sacramento May 27.

Jonny Gomes • Was hit by a Jonathan Braxton pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th inning April 11 against Kansas City to force in the winning run in the A’s 5-4 victory…it was his second career walk- off hit by pitch (August 21, 2011 vs. Philadelphia)…it was his fifth career walk-off RBI (two home runs, one walk)…it was the third walk-off hit by pitch in Oakland history (Mike Bordick, August 4, 1993 vs. Seattle and Olmedo Saenz, July 20, 2002 vs. Texas). • Singled in the eighth inning April 19 at Los Angeles after homering for each of his first three hits for the season…is the first player in Oakland history whose first three hits in a season were all home runs. • Hit the game-winning pinch-hit two-run home run in the seventh inning June 16 against San Diego, his third career pinch hit home run (last: June 28, 2008 at Pittsburgh)…it snapped a 0 for 34 streak as a pinch hitter and was his first pinch hit since August 29, 2010 against Chicago (NL).

Luke Hughes • Was claimed off waivers from Minnesota April 22 and went 1 for 13 (.077) in four games with the A’s before he was designated for assignment April 30…cleared waivers and was outrighted to Sacramento May 2.

Brandon Inge • Agreed to terms with the A’s on a one-year contract April 30 after he was released by Detroit April 26. • Had four four-RBI game over a five-game span from May 6 to 11…according to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the second player in Major League history with four games of four or more RBI over a five-game stretch…the other is Lou Gehrig in 1931…now has 14 career games with four or more RBI...drove in 16 runs over that five-game stretch…since 1970, the only other Athletic to drive in 16 runs over a five-game span is Damian Miller (June 6-11, 2004). • Had the game-ending grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning May 8 against Toronto…it was his seventh career “walk-off” home run and his 10th “walk-off plate appearance (two singles, one sacrifice fly)…it was the sixth “walk-off” grand slam in Oakland history (Tenace, 1973; Armas, 1980; McGwire, 1990 and 1995; Ellis, 2008). • Added another grand slam May 10 against Detroit…is just the second player in Athletics history to hit two grand slams over a three-game span…the other is Jimmie Foxx (September 22 and 24, 1932)…now has seven career grand slams. • Had 17 RBI in his first 10 games with the A’s…those are the most in Oakland history by a player in his first 10 games with the A’s…the previous best was 15 by Mitchell Page (1977) and Jack Cust (2007). • Was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 17 retroactive to May 13 with a strained right groin… it is his second stint on the disabled list this year as he began the season on Detroit’s DL with a strained left groin. • Went 5 for 5 with three runs, two doubles, two home runs (including a grand slam) and seven RBI in a start at third base for Triple-A Sacramento May 26 against Reno in the second game of his two- game rehab assignment. • Was reinstated from the DL May 29.

Kila Ka’aihue • Matched his career high with three hits April 15 at Seattle (third time, last: Sept. 28, 2010 vs. Min- nesota). • Had the game-winning RBI single in the 14th inning April 25 against Chicago, his second career walk-off hit (home run, April 1, 2011 vs. Los Angeles-AL). • Was batting .234 with four home runs and 14 RBI in 39 games when he was designated for assign- ment June 6…cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento June 16.

Brandon McCarthy • Made his first career Opening Day start March 28 against Seattle and had a no decision in the A’s 3-1, 11-inning loss…allowed just one run on six hits and no walks in 7.0 innings. • Also started the third game of the season, April 6 against Seattle, to become the second pitcher in Oakland history to start two of the A’s first three games…the other is Joe Blanton who did it in 2008, the other time the A’s opened the season in Japan…also started three of the first seven games, joining Blaton as the only Oakland pitchers to do that since 1977.

Jim Miller • Picked up his first Major League win April 25 against Chicago…allowed two inherited runners to score in the top of the 14th inning but the A’s came back with three in the bottom of the inning. • Was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento May 11 afte posting a 1.93 ERA in six relief appearances with the A’s. • Returned to Oakland May 20.

Tommy Milone • Combined with Grant Balfour on a three-hit, 1-0 shutout of Kansas City April 9 in Oakland in his A’s debut…tossed 8.0 innings and allowed all three of the hits…became just the second pitcher in Oakland history to toss eight or more shutout innings in his Oakland debut (Mike Norris, complete game shutout, April 10, 1975 against Chicago)…did not strikeout a batter to become the third pitcher in Oakland history to toss at least 8.0 shutout innings and not strikeout a batter (Matt Keough, July 27, 1980 against Detroit; Catfish Hunter, May 25, 1973 against Detroit).

Brandon Moss • Was selected from Triple-A Sacramento June 6 after batting .286 with 15 home runs and 33 RBI in 51 games with the River Cats…the home runs were tied for second in the Pacific Coast League and tied for sixth in all of minor league baseball at the time of his promotion. • Homered June 7 against Texas, his first since September 2, 2009 at Cincinnati…it snapped a career- high 49-game homerless streak. • Had his first career two-homer game June 12 at Colorado. • Homered in all three games of the Colorado series June 12-14 and had four home runs total…is the first Athletic to hit four home runs in a three-game series since Geronimo Berroa against Minnesota, August 12-14, 1996. • Matched his career-high with three hits (fifth time, first since June 20, 2009 at Colorado) and three RBI (fourth time, second time this year: June 12 at Colorado) June 14 at Colorado. • Homered in four consecutive games June 12-15…it was the 20th time in Oakland history a player homered in at least four straight games…hit five home runs during the stretch to become the second Athletic since 2000 to hit five home runs over a four-game span (Jack Cust, May 10-13, 2007). • Became the second player in Athletics history to hit six home runs in his first nine games with the club (Jack Cust, 2007).

Derek Norris • Was recalled from Sacramento June 21 after batting .273 with eight home runs and 36 RBI in 55 games in his Triple-A debut…made his Major League debut with a start at catcher that day against Los Angeles (NL) and went 0 for 3.

Cliff Pennington • Doubled in the second inning June 4 against Texas to snap a career-high 0 for 29 streak (previous: 0 for 27, May 22-June 1, 2010). • Went 3 for 3 June 15, his 28th birthday…is 6 for 12 (.500) with one double, one triple, four RBI and four runs scored in three career games on his birthday.

Anthony Recker • Was on the A’s Opening Day roster and hit .129 in 13 games as the back-up to Kurt Suzuki before he was optioned to Sacramento May 28.
