Consequently, what those consultants told Respondents before they chose to run their deceptive advertising is crucial to determining the appropriate scope of relief. Yet Respondents refuse to produce their consultants’ work, and their consultants dubiously claim they no longer possess it. As a result, Complaint Counsel had no choice but to seek this important nonprivileged material from Olshan directly. Respondents claim attorney-client privilege, but their blanket assertion that everything Olshan may possess is allegedly “confidential” does not meet their burden. To prove consulting materials are privileged, Respondents must establish that the consultants worked exclusively to help Olshan provide legal advice, or that they are the “functional equivalent” of Respondents’ own employees. Here, neither is true. Accordingly, because Olshan possesses relevant, nonprivileged documents not available elsewhere, Respondents’ motion must be denied.1 1 Complaint Counsel’s March 30 motion to reschedule the evidentiary hearing to permit more time for discovery is pending before the Commission. -

Western Washington University 2016-2017 GRADUATE OUTCOMES REPORT The Career Services Center has implemented a new method for collecting post-graduation education and employment outcomes data, greatly increasing the sample size and accuracy of results reported over previous years. This report on graduates from the 2016-2017 academic year refects outcomes six months post-graduation based on a sample of 89% (3,015 of 3,382) of Bachelor’s Degree recipients and a sample of 85% (248 of 293) Master’s Degree recipients. Mihaela Ileana Ionescu Mihaela Ileana Ionescu Additional information is available at the end of the chapter Additional information is available at the end of the chapter http://dx.doi.org/10.5772/intechopen.72110 Abstract Medicinal plants have been widely used in the management of infectious diseases and by now, many of the ancient remedies have proven their value through scientific method- ologies. Although the mechanisms underlying most plant-derived remedies are not well understood, the success of herbal medicine in curing infectious diseases shows that many plants have beneficial effects in various bacterial, fungal, viral or parasitic infections. The modern methodologies in the isolation, purification and characterization of the active compounds, has been a great impact for advancing in vitro and in vivo research, this step being crucial for further application in clinical trials. Many plant-derived compounds, for example, quinine and artemisinin, have been already successfully used in healing life- threatening infectious disease. The main limitations of plant medicine healing are lack of standardization and reproducibility of plant-derived products. Despite the paucity of clinical trials evaluating their efficacy, phytotherapy, adult plant uses and gemmo- therapy, the use of embryonic stem cells should be reconsidered as valuable resources in finding new active compounds with sustained antimicrobial activity.
