The street cleaners are not as regular as needed to keep on top of the problem. Also, dog poo. It's everywhere. You can even smell it in the air some days. This petition is for the council to fund frequent street cleaners in Abbey Wood, if not daily then 2—3 visits weekly at least. Plus, more dog waste bins and bag dispensers on the streets. Abbey Wood doesn't need to be a dumping ground for waste! Petition Response 1.1 We are sorry to learn that a number of residents in Abbey Wood have reported concerns about litter and dog fouling in their area. 1.2 Both issues can be challenging for the local authority to manage borough- wide, but we do work hard to work with residents to help tackle these concerns, through regular cleansing, behaviour change campaigns and engagement. 2. Current actions being taken in relation to matter raised in petition 2.1 Litter is a problem that blights most areas in the borough unfortunately and is also a national issue that is being actively challenged. In 2019 our Street Services team tried hard to better educate residents to be more responsible and not throw litter on our streets.

    www.bexley.gov.uk Bexley Growth Strategy December 2017 Bexley Growth Strategy December 2017 Leader’s Foreword Following two years of detailed technical work and consultation, I am delighted to present the Bexley Growth Strategy that sets out how we plan to ensure our borough thrives and grows in a sustainable way. For centuries, Bexley riverside has been a place of enterprise and endeavour, from iron working and ship fitting to silk printing, quarrying and heavy engineering. People have come to live and work in the borough for generations, taking advantage of its riverside locations, bustling town and village centres and pleasant neighbourhoods as well as good links to London and Kent, major airports, the Channel rail tunnel and ports. Today Bexley remains a popular place to put down roots and for businesses to start and grow. We have a wealth of quality housing and employment land where large and small businesses alike are investing for the future. We also have a variety of historic buildings, neighbourhoods and open spaces that provide an important link to our proud heritage and are a rich resource. We have great schools and two world-class performing arts colleges plus exciting plans for a new Place and Making Institute in Thamesmead that will transform the skills training for everyone involved in literally building our future. History tells us that change is inevitable and we are ready to respond and adapt to meet new opportunities. London is facing unprecedented growth and Bexley needs to play its part in helping the capital continue to thrive. But we can only do that if we plan carefully and ensure we attract the right kind of quality investment supported by the funding of key infrastructure by central government, the Mayor of London and other public bodies.

Pass the war memorial and the children’s playground. Cross Blendon Terrace, pass the tennis courts and bowling green to reach Waverley Crescent. To continue towards Bostall Woods cross Waverley Crescent to reach the Green Chain major signpost. 4a: Charlton Park to Bostall Woods Alternatively turn right here to head south along Waverley Crescent to walk Start: Charlton Park (TQ421778) to Oxleas Meadows (see section 4a directions on page 2). Station: Charlton Finish: Bostall Woods (TQ470778) From Waverley Crescent cross the green to Warwick Terrace, bear right, Station: Abbey Wood or Welling cross Old Mill Road then immediately left to cross Warwick Terrace. Turn right then left along the path behind the shelter. Turn right and follow the Distance: 3.6 miles (5.8 km) marker posts parallel with Old Mill Road. Descend the steps to the pond at ‘The Slade’ and up the other side. 4b: Plumstead Common to Oxleas Meadow Start: Plumstead Common (TQ446779) Cross Lakedale Road and bear left to follow around the children’s Station: Bus stops on Plumstead Common Road playground. Cross the Common to Winns Common Road and the end of Riverdale Road. Turn right opposite Purrett Road to the open grass and Finish: Oxleas Meadow ( TQ438761) follow around the sports pitch to the Green Chain major signpost at the top Station: Falconwood (rail) or buses on Shooters Hill of the steps and turn left.
