Zoo Trip Spawns Students’ Empathy Students in Sharon Rosetti’s class at Hillside Children’s Center’s Campus School took a field trip last summer to Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse.While enjoying the sights and sounds, several students noticed a poster announcing that sponsors were needed to adopt zoo animals.When they got back to school, Mrs. Rosetti’s class began to plan how they could earn enough money for an animal adoption. The class made their own posters and asked other students and teachers for coins to put into a piggy bank. Through their collection efforts, the class was able to adopt a snow leopard at the zoo.
