The genus Scinax Wagler, 1930 includes 112 species new state record for Scinax constrictus and provide a and is the second most diverse within the family Hylidae map of the currently known geographical distribution (Frost, 2014). Due to the large number of species, of the species. morphological similarity between them and the scarcity During fieldwork on 1th July 2014, a single male of S. of larval and acoustic data, the of the genus constrictus was found calling at 9:00 pm (Figure 1) in is complicated (Pombal-Júnior et al., 1995). Using marginal shrub vegetation in a region associated with morphological and molecular data, Faivovich (2002) the Paranaíba river, municipally of Limeira do Oeste, divided the genus into two clades: S. catharinae and state of Minas Gerais (19°16’31.12”S 50°43’40.72”W, S. ruber clades. Subsequently, Faivovich et al. (2005) WGS84, 382 m altitude). The voucher specimen is reorganized the ruber clade into two groups, the S. deposited in the Coleção Herpetológica do Museu de rostratus and S. uruguayus groups. Zoologia “João Moojen”, Universidade Federal de Scinax contrictus Lima, Bastos & Giaretta, 2004, Viçosa (MZUFV 15324). Specific identification was representative of the Scinax rostratus group, was performed comparing the holotype (MNRJ 31205) described from specimens collected in the municipality and paratopotypes (MNRJ 31206-31225) deposited of Palmeiras, state of Goiás, and is distributed in the at the Coleção Herpetológica do Museu Nacional, Brazilian states of Tocantins, Goiás and Mato Grosso Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. do Sul (Lima et al., 2004; Carvalho et al., 2006; Vaz- Silva et al., 2006; Campos & Vaz-Silva, 2010; Valdujo et al., 2011; Melo et al., 2013; Frost, 2014). This species is endemic to the Cerrado (Valdujo et al., 2012) and is found in low abundance (Campos & Vaz-Silva, 2010) from December to March, vocalizing in marginal shrub vegetation in permanent ponds of open areas (Lima et al., 2004; Vaz-Silva et al., 2006). Herein we report a
