It is comprised of members from all Greek Chapters Representative and executive positions are open to any general Greek member. The vision and intent of this organization is to strengthen the Greek community while maintaining a strong, positive relationship with the university, community, and the City of Platteville. WOMEN’S GREEK COUNCIL (WGC) Develop and maintain women’s Greek Life, inter-chapter relations, and the spirit of friendship and cooperation among Greeks, other student organizations, and non- affiliated students. Promote grander scholarship and intellectual achievement. Panhellenic is a standing committee of Women’s Greek Council and governs the two Panhellenic members on our campus (Gamma Phi Beta & Theta Phi Alpha) PANHELLENIC The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), founded in 1902, is an umbrella organization for 26 International/National women’s sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. The UW-Platteville Greek Life Community is proud to have 2 sororities on campus: Gamma Phi Beta & Theta Phi Alpha. 9/19 – 5 pm – Panhellenic Info. Night – Markee Pioneer Student Center, Platteville Rooms GPA – GREEKS PROMOTING AWARENESS To promote inter-organization collaboration regarding the awareness of being a healthy Greek at UW-Platteville. To share GPA information and solutions of mutual interest to all parties involved. To assist in the Greek Community, Health Services, and AODA to educate students on high risk drinking issues with proactive and progressive bystander intervention programming. To promote health educational information and programs to all Greek organizations and campus. ORDER OF OMEGA Recognize those students who have attained a high standard of academics (3.0 gpa and higher) and leadership within inter-Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this path, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment. Provide scholastic strategies for the entire Greek community to encourage strong scholastics. Bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of UW- Platteville’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding, and helpfulness. GREEK LIFE Academic Achievement As a community, we strive for academic success. Members are required to meet a 2.5 GPA each semester Civic Outreach Community service (volunteering) and philanthropy (raising monetary items) are big components of Greek Life at UW-Platteville. 8,833 hours of community service during the 2015-2016 academic year with 66% reporting The WOMEN had 82% submit for a total of 5,646 hours of community service. CERES (CERES) International Women’s Fraternity Chapter An agricultural women’s fraternity, yet members study a variety of academic fields “The object of our fraternity is to build the whole person to effect bonds of sisterhood and unify CERES as a comprehensive entity.     MU PHI EPSILON COLLEGIATE CHAPTER BYLAWS BYLAWS of The Phi Tau Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon International Professional Music Fraternity at the University of North Texas PREAMBLE The Phi Tau Collegiate Chapter is a chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon International Professional Music Fraternity. Its Purposes are the recognition of scholarship and musicianship, and the development of a bond of friendship among its members; its Aim is the advancement of music in the community, in the nation and in the world through the promotion of musicianship, scholarship, therapy, and education, with an emphasis on service through music. ARTICLE I. Members Qualifications for Membership Section 1. Those persons eligible for membership in the Phi Tau Chapter shall be undergraduates, ​ ​ graduate students, faculty and professional music staff of the University of North Texas. A. Undergraduates must: 1. be music majors or minors, or the equivalent thereof, enrolled in the school as a candidate for a degree; 2. have attained second-term (quarter, trimester) freshman standing; 3. have a minimum grade point average as specified by the fraternity of 3.0 music and 2.0 academic (A=4.0) B. Transfer students must meet the requirements outlined in Section 1A above and must have established a grade point average in the school where membership is proposed. C. Graduate students whose undergraduate degree was in music are eligible for membership at any time. Other graduate students must be pursuing a music degree and meet the grade point average standard set forth in Section 1A3 at the school proposing membership. D. Special Permission to allow exceptions to any of these qualifications specified in Section 1A may be granted in certain cases with the approval of the International Executive Board.
