Kitab Ghar PUBLICATION BUREAU The idea for the establishment of an air-conditioned ‘Kitab Ghar’, an outlet PUNJABI UNIVERSITY, PATIALA for the display and sale of University publications at the University Campus, was mooted out by the worthy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Jaspal Singh himself which ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY shows his deep love for the books and concern about the readers. It remains open on all days of the week except Sunday from 8:30 a.m to 8:00 p.m. Punjabi University, Patiala, one of the leading premier institutions in the northern region of India, came into existence on 30th April, 1962 under Punjab Books Club & Its Membership Act No. 35 of 1961. Recently, in 2011-12, it got Award for Excellence in Publishing from the Federation of Indian Publishers for its publication title, “Gurushabad Ratnakar Mahan Kosh” (Punjabi) in the reference book category of regional language. The number of awards won by the Bureau from time to time establish its claim. IMPORTANT NOTE 1. The payment for the books is required to be sent in advance only by a bank draft in favour of Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala, payable at Patiala to Head, Publication Bureau, Punjabi University, Patiala-147002. 2. Cheques/P.O./M.O. are not accepted. 3. Postal expenses will be borne by the customer. 4. Trade discount is given on bulk order. 5. While sending orders in bulk, draft for half the amount should be attached. The railway consignment of the books will be sent through Bank. 6. While sending orders, please write neatly the name of the nearest railway station/post office. In case of non-availability of railway station, the books will be sent through Postal packets after receiving the full payment. 7. The catalogue of general books, text books and magazines in Punjabi has been published separately. 8. Price of new edition will be charged in case the old edition is out of stock. 9. MEMBERSHIP Punjabi University Book Club The Membership is open to individuals, educational and culture institutions and professional bodies on the payment of required fee and acceptance of all the terms and conditions as stiperlated under the constitution of the club. This Membership is valid for one year only and can be renewed every year. However, the membership is not open to foreign III. MEMBERSHIP FEE For individuals Rs. 25/- For institution Rs. 50/- The above- said membership fee is non-refundable and remains effective from Ist April to 31st March. Life membership can also be sought by making a lump sum payment of Rs. 500/- IV. PRIVILEGES OF MEMBERS 1. Each member of the PUNJABI UNIVERSITY BOOK CLUB will be placed on the free mailing list for the catalogue of books published by the University. 2. Each member is entitled to get 50% discount on printed price of every book. However, postal charges, if any, will be borne by the members themselves. The books being more than 5kg. will be sent by R.R. paid by the University to the nearest Railway Station. 3. The required book(s) will be sent on receipt of advance payment from the outside member by a Bank Draft only drawn in favour of Registrar, Punjabi University, Patiala through the Publication Bureau. 4.
