Following our meeting, I wanted to write to provide you with an overview of progress since our acquisition of the UK Green Investment Bank, and our plans for the future. Macquarie was proud to acquire the UK Green Investment Bank (GIB) three years ago, combining the world’s first green bank and the world’s largest infrastructure investor. The result – the Green Investment Group (GIG) – is now one of the world’s leading renewable energy developers and investors. It has remained true to its original mission, continues to be led from the UK and its green purposes remain enshrined in its legal constitution and culture. At the time of the acquisition, Macquarie made a number of commitments to the UK Government. Those commitments reflected our intentions and ambitions to grow GIB and continue its success story, backed by the strength, diversity and resources of Macquarie Group. They also reflected the objectives of the UK Government, in allowing GIB the freedom to increase the sectors and technologies in which it operates, commit ever greater levels of capital to green projects, and expand its operations internationally to export this UK success story overseas. -

THE DESCENDANTS OF A DANISH PÖHLS FAMILY (All information on the living was found on the Internet) INTRODUCTION This following is an overview of the descendants of one of the two known Danish PÖHLS families. That family originated in the city of Schönberg in Ratzeburg, part of Mecklenburg-Strehlitz, and moved in stages to Copenhagen, Denmark. The other Danish PÖHLS family originated in the city of Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Schwerin and moved to Lemvig, Denmark. Ludwig Gottlieb Theodor PÖHLS, baptized and confirmed in Schwerin, founded this family in 1861, when he married Therese Marie GLISTRUP in Lemvig. Family Overview Sometime around 1804, Hartwig Lorenz PÖHLS moved to Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the first son of Hartwig Lorenz PÖHLS (Sr.) and Anna Magdalena (“An Lehn”) STEGMANN of the city of Schönberg. In Copenhagen, he became a citizen of that city and married Karin Kirstine (“Caroline” -- also known as Ida Caroline) NIELSEN in 1804. He was a Bager [baker] and later a Bagermester [master baker in Danish]. Why he, the eldest son of Hartwig Lorenz PÖHLS (Sr.), a Bäckermeister [master baker in German] and the bakers’ guildmaster in the city of Schönberg, moved to Copenhagen is unknown. Perhaps he wanted to see the big city lights. Perhaps he wished to avoid the turmoil of the Napoleonic Wars (Mecklenburg was occupied by the French, Denmark was not). Or perhaps he wished to escape his father’s shadow. Sometime around 1810, Johann Hinrich PÖHLS also moved to Copenhagen. He was the second son of Hartwig Lorenz PÖHLS (Sr.) and An Lehn STEGMANN. He became a citizen of Copenhagen and married Johanne NIELSEN in October 1810 (no relationship has been established between Karin Kirstine and Johanne). -

This report relates to the MGL 2018 £2,100 million loan facility of which £500 million constitutes as green financing (“green tranches”). It provides information on the environmental benefits (“green impact”) of the eligible projects1 which have been notionally allocated2 green tranche financing. MGL is also pleased to note it has raised its second green financing transaction in March 2020, a US$300 million Samurai loan facility in the Japanese market of which US$150 million constitutes as green financing. This loan was not drawn at the 31 March reporting period and is not covered by this report. The approach presented in this report is consistent with Macquarie’s Green Finance Framework (“GFF”) which was developed in accordance with the APLMA3 Green Loan Principles. Macquarie has utilised the expertise of its Green Investment Group (“GIG”) Green Investment Ratings team to demonstrate the green impact of its eligible projects. The full Impact Report is available in Appendix 1. Macquarie’s GIG is a specialist in green infrastructure principal investment, project development and delivery, green impact advisory and the management of portfolio assets. -

SWEDISH ECONOMIC POLICY REVIEW 9 (2002) 165-169 Comments on Søren Bo Nielsen, Poul Schou and Jacob Krog Søbygaard: Elements of income tax evasion and avoidance in Denmark Fredrik Andersson* The task of discussing a paper is, to some extent, facilitated, but also hampered, by really enjoying the paper and the work behind it. Such is the case with the paper by Nielsen, Schou and Søbygaard. The au- thors make a pertinent contribution to the discussion of tax evasion and tax avoidance. In more specific terms, they provide some general discussion and explore two issues quite thoroughly. First, they exploit the relationship between the tax base for income taxation and the tax base for consumption taxation in order to indirectly identify an an- ticipated shortfall in the tax base for income taxation. Their conclu- sion is that there is indeed such a shortfall in the range 1.8-3.6 per cent of GDP. Second, the authors explore migration out of and into Denmark in order to assess whether such migration threatens the per- sonal-income-tax base. They conclude that the evidence does not in- dicate the existence of a serious threat in this regard. The paper takes on important aspects of tax evasion and tax avoidance. The conclusions drawn are corroborated by solid empirical evidence, and as regards the basic analysis of the paper, I have found it very hard to mount any criticism. Nevertheless, I have some com- ments, and in the following, I will start by providing some general comments, and then proceed to painting a somewhat more pessimis- tic picture regarding the pressures likely to be exerted on the tax bases in Scandinavia by the mobility of skilled labour. -
