LEADING BY EXAMPLE Approximately 85 percent of La Salle's student-athletes are accounted for in contributing over 4,000 hours of community service throughout the course of a year. Project Teamwork — a community service initiative sponsored by the athletic department — was honored in eight consecutive years by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports for its community service and youth outreach programs. GOING SHOPPING The Shoppes at La Salle, a shopping center on La Salle's campus, opened in 2009. The center includes Fresh Grocer, Rite-Aid, Beneficial Bank, Dunkin' Donuts, T-Mobile, America's Best Eyewear, and GameStop. WE WALK THE WALK! Academically, La Salle had four All-Americans, four Regional All-Americans, 12 Academic All-Conference members, 12 Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area honorees and 183 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll members in 2008-09. CAREERS MATTER ExploreU is a five-stage career exploration model that has been developed for under- graduate students at La Salle. The model is designed to provide all students with the resources needed to explore their values, interests, skills, and goals as related to their choice of majors and career paths. SCHOLARS TOO La Salle has graduated 61 students who have been named Fulbright Scholars. THE FUTURE OF SCIENCE Holroyd Hall, featuring the Hugh and Nancy Devlin Center for Science and Technology, has reopened after a full-scale, environmentally friendly renovation and expansion. The project added 38,000 square feet to the building to provide state-of-the-art classrooms, labs, offices, and student space.
