50,000 Meals Thousands of Washington metro area residents struggle with hunger daily. Our recent research study, Hunger in America, shows a 25 percent increase in people needing our services versus four years ago. Through our partner agencies and direct distributions, the food bank is now serving over 88,000 people weekly, an increase of 27 percent. Yes, these numbers are startling, but hunger can be solved if we all get involved. Tonight we will ask you to make a tax deductible contribution to the Capital Area Food Bank to help provide 50,000 more meals. The opportunity to donate $1000, $500, $250, $100 and $50 will be available to you. We will start with our highest level of donation and work backwards; simply raise your bid number at the level that you desire to participate and we will record your donation.
