Reynolds-Obituaries Aaron L. Reynolds REYNOLDS-OBITUARIES AARON L. REYNOLDS: is the newly elected president of the Elkton Kiwanis Club. Mr. Reynolds, Pennsylvania Railroad Agent for Elkton, has been a member since he came to Elkton eleven years ago from Newark, Delaware. He is married and has one son is a member of the Kiwanian sponsored Key Club of the Elkton High School. At the regularer meeting of the club on Thursday, November 10, Mr. Reynolds and other officers for 1950 were elected. New officers are, Harry F. Patterson, vice president, John J. Ward, Jr., immediate past president, Horace L. Scott, treasurer, Dr. Harold E. Collins, secretary. Members of the Board of Directors for two year term are Franklin C. Coburn, Benjamin T. Geary, Ralph Robinson, Wallace Williams, Jr. Hold over Directors for one year are Ralph H. Beachley, Douglas W. Connellee and J. Ewing Lort. (Cecil Whig 11/17/1949) AARON L REYNOLDS: 76, husband of Mrs. Mary P. Reynolds of Elkton, died on Saturday, January 18 in the Memorial Division in Wilmington, Del. Born in Rising Sun, he attended West Nottingham Academy and had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pennsylvania and Delaware until 1936, when he was transferred to Elkton as station agent and held that position for twenty seven years until retiring in 1963. He was a member and deacon of the Elkton Presbyterian Church, member and past president of the Elkton Kiwanis Club and a member of the Historical Society of Cecil County. Surviving is one son, Major George Proctor Reynolds with the U. S. Army in Arlington, Va. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 21 from the Pippin Funeral Home in Elkton, with the Rev. Harry D. Clewer, pastor of the Elkton Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in Brookview Cemetery in Rising Sun. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, c/o Elkton Presbyterian Church, Elkton Md. (1/22/1969) AARON T. REYNOLDS: of Smyrna, Delaware, died Wednesday May 28, 2003 in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital. He was 68. Mr. Reynolds was born July 8, 1934 in Dover, Delaware, the son of the late Charles W. Reynolds Sr. and Ida H. Williams Reynolds. Aaron loved playing high school sports like basketball and football, but his greatest love was baseball. He was a stellar pitcher for Smyrna High School and while still in high school, on weekends, pitched batting practice for the Dover Phillies Farm Team. The Bi-State/Mar-Del League also gave Aaron an avenue to pursue his favorite sport, playing for Kenton, the only Delaware team in the league. Following high school, Aaron worked for Playtex distribution and later for several different electrical contractors before becoming an electrical inspector for the First State Inspection Agency and retiring in 1999. Aaron also retried from the Delaware National Guard as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. He was a Past Master of Harmony Lodge #13 AF&AM, serving as Master in 1996 and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was a life member of the Cheswold Fire Company and had been a volunteer for Citizens Hose Company #1 in Smyrna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel Bo Qi. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, H. Marie Brown Reynolds; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Janice R. Qi of Middletown, Delaware and Laura Jo and James Permelia of Smyrna; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith A. and Janaia Reynolds of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kirk O. Reynolds of Smyrna; 1 brother; Charles W. Reynolds and his wife June of Felton, Delaware; 3 sisters, Elva Clough and her husband, Mickey of Dover, Delaware, Margaret Cohee and her husband, Bill of Cheswold, Ruth Strickland and her husband, Travis of Houston, Texas and grandchildren, Ashley and Daniel Reynolds of Smyrna, Ryan, Idamarie and Clayton Permelia all of Smyrna and Jordana Qi of Middletown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Sunday June 1, 2003 at 3PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services. Masonic services will be Sunday at 2:50PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors, Inc., 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware. (05/28/03) ABSOLAM Eli JACKSON: 61, husband of Eva Reynolds Jackson, died at his home at Principio furnace, on Sunday, November 19.he is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Childs, of Philadelphia. A son, Absalom d. Jackson of Perryville, also a brother n. Munson Jackson of Principio furnace. He was the son of the late Eli C. and Mary Belle Whitlock Jackson. Interment in Principio furnace cemetery. 11/23/1950 ADA V. REYNOLDS: Miss Ada V. Reynolds, daughter of the late Clinton Reynolds, formerly of the Eighth district, died at East Nottingham, Pa., early in the week, of consumption, aged 21 years. The funeral was held on Wednesday, with interment in Little Britain Cemetery. (Cecil Whig Sat. 10/29/1910) 1 ADA V REYNOLDS: Miss Ada V. Reynolds died Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clarence Griest, in east Nottingham township, pa. After a lingering illness from tuberculosis. The deceased was 21 years of age, and is the sixth member of the family to die within the last four years. She was a daughter of the late Clinton Reynolds, whose death occurred about four months ago. Interment in little Britain. (10/28/1910) ADA MAY Hoffman REYNOLDS: Funeral services will be held in Philadelphia at 2 o’clock today for Mrs. Ada May Reynolds, who died in Union Hospital Monday. She had been in the hospital about one month. Mrs. Reynolds, who was 79, was the widow of Wilbur F. Reynolds. For approximately a year, Mrs. Reynolds had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Corita Love, of Elkton R.D. 3. The funeral is under the direction of the Pippin Funeral Home. Interment will be in Westminster Cemetery, Philadelphia. 4/12/1951) ADDIE BROWN REYNOLDS: Stricken with an attack of the heart, Mr. Addie Brown Reynolds widow of Fred Reynolds, died suddenly at her home in Quarryville, Pa., at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, January 18. She was 47 years of age. Her husband died at exactly the same hour one year previous, from the influenza. Mrs. Reynolds was the daughter of Annie and the late John Brown of Rising Sun. Three children survive, Mrs. Harold Rose of Huntington, Mrs. E. Claire Booth and Carl Reynolds, of Quarryville. Her mother and one brother, Alfred Brown, of Rising Sun, also survive. The funeral was held on Thursday, with interment in Quarryville cemetery. (Cecil Whig Sat. 1/24/1920) ADDIE REYNOLDS PIERCE: wife of George W. Pierce, formerly of the Rising Sun section, died on March 7, at her home near Penn Hill, aged 50? Years. She was a daughter of Josiah Reynolds, and is survived by her husband and five children. (Cecil Whig Sat. 3/16/1912) d-3/7/1912 ADELINE M. BYRDE: widow of the late Arthur Byrde, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard N. Brickley, of greenhurst, after an illness of several months, of a complication of a disease of several months in her 78th year of her age. She was the daughter of the late Robert Todd, born near port deposit, and spent her entire life in Cecil county. She is survived by five sons and one daughter. Interment in west Nottingham cemetery. 9/18/1926 (Father-Robert Todd & Mother is a Reynolds) ADOLPHUS C. REYNOLDS: died suddenly at the home of his father-in-law, Aaron Michener, of Colora, Wednesday. He was spending a few days at the Michener home preparatory to taking a trip South. For a long time the deceased occupied the position of division operator on the Baltimore Central Division of the Pennsylvanian Railroad, with headquarters at Media, a. He was 57 years of age and was a native of this county, being a son of the late Otho Reynolds. A widow and two brothers survive. 1856-8/12/1908 (Cecil Whig, Sat. 8/15/1908) ADRIANNA REYNOLDS KIRK: widow, of the late Alexander Kirk and a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Reynolds, of Rising Sun, died in Philadelphia, on January 24, aged about 90 (could be 30 hard to read) years. The funeral was held on Monday with interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. (Cecil Whig Sat. 2/1/1913) ADRIANNA REYNOLDS SCOTT: passed away at her home near Rock Church, Sunday morning, March 26th in her 91st year. She was the wife of the late Jasper Scott and a daughter, Israel and Elizabeth Mearns Reynolds. Mrs. Scott was born and spent her early life on the old Reynolds homestead near Blue Ball, Md. She was the last of a family of six children. In her early life she became a member of the Rock Church and was the oldest member of that church. Her kind and loving disposition endeared her to everyone' and her long life of service for others, leaves a picture that shall always linger. She is survived by one son, Cecil Scott, at home and two daughters, Mrs. Florence Underwood and Mrs. Vianna Mackey, Blake, Md.; also two grandsons, Walter Scott and Billy Underwood. The funeral was held from her late home, on Wednesday, March 29, Interment at Rosebank cemetery. (Cecil Whig Thurs. 4/6/1944) d-3/26/1944 AGNES D. REYNOLDS (nee Durkan) Age 91 formerly of Upper Darby, PA and County Mayo, Ireland died July 3, 2001 at Shipley Manor Nursing Home in DE.
