The annual “Fun Frolic” event in the All Saints Catholic Academy gymnasium typical- ly draws more than 2,000 kids and their par- ents for games, food, costume contests and of course, the famous haunted house. “I liked going through the spooky house,” said Audriana Carli, 7, of Ironwood. The scariest part was “when the hand popped out,” she said. Dean Carli, her father, said they’ve been taking her to the event for years and she always has a good time. The game are fun but it’s about being at an event with practically everyone in town with a kid also attending, he said. “It’s everything, Carli said. “A lot of her school mates are here.” Madison Sterbenz, 14, Ironwood, is a for- mer All Saints student and a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish. ASCAP PAUL WILLIAMS President and Chairman of the Board April 2012 Dear Writer Member, Enclosed is your final quarterly domestic Writer statement for the 2011 survey year, covering performances from July through September 2011. I am pleased to announce that ASCAP collected $985 million in revenues for calendar year 2011, the second highest revenues in the organization’s history, and an increase of 5.4% over 2010. This includes a $50 million increase in foreign revenues over 2010. Our distributions to members were $824 million, marking the fourth year in a row that distributions exceeded $800 million, delivering a total of $3.3 billion to our members. This news is clear proof that the demand for your music is enormous, and growing by leaps and bounds, both domestically and abroad. It’s also encouraging to know that ASCAP’s advocacy throughout the world is paying off. As songwriters and composers, we depend on the efficiencies of ASCAP to manage our performing rights in a rapidly changing global economy. ASCAP remains among the most efficient PROs in the world, with an operating expense ratio of 11.9%, down two percentage points over last year. We recently announced our first wave of panelists and speakers for the 2012 ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO, and what a phe- nomenal group it is! Our headline speakers this year include Carly Simon, Peter Frampton and superstar writer/producer team The Smeezingtons (Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine). Desmond Child, Dan Wilson, Darrell Brown, Allen Shamblin, Mark Isham and Greg Wells will all hold insightful Master Sessions.
