Christian batted .400 (6-15) with two grand slams, 14 RBI, one double and three runs scored in four games last week. His two grand slams came in the bottom of the first inning of both games of a doubleheader against Gardner-Webb, with the Camels trailing each time. Christian opened his week with 3 RBI at N.C. State, went 2-3 and plated a run in Friday’s series opener vs. GWU and then went 2021 PRESEASON 3-7 with 10 RBI in Saturday’s twinbill against the Runnin’ Bulldogs. PLAYERS OF THE YEAR STARTING PITCHER OF THE WEEK - RJ PETIT, CHARLESTON SOUTHERN, RHP, SO (ROCK HILL, S.C.) Petit tossed a four-hit complete game shutout against Longwood on Friday. He utilized just 94 pitches, carried a perfect game into the fifth inning and did not allow a runner past second base. Petit fanned six and did not issue a walk the entire game. PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR RELIEF PITCHER OF THE WEEK - AUSTIN MORGAN, USC UpsTATE, RHP, JR. (EASLEY, S.C.) Collin Wolf, Campbell Morgan entered Friday’s game with Radford tied 5-5 in the top of the seventh with one out and runners on the corners, and got the Spartans out of the jam. He then retired the Highlanders in order in the eighth, and closed out the ninth with just one hit allowed and earned the eventual 7-6 victory. He struck out two in his 2.2 innings of work. PRESEASON PITCHER OF THE YEAR RJ Petit, Charleston Southern FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK - DYLAN STEWART, CHARLESTON SOUTHERN, INF, FR (GOOSE CREEK, S.C.) Stewart made his 2021 debut with RBI triples in each of his first two at-bats in CSU’s 7-0 win over Longwood last Friday. He finished the three-game series with the Lancers batting .556 (5-9) with three runs scored and four driven in. Stewart connected on the game- winning sacrifice fly in the series finale, which also included a double. He had a 1.111 slugging clip and .583 on-base average in his three games.
