A RESOLUTION

1 Commending Tim Cooper on his service as the Scout Executive of the Northeast 2 Council; and for other purposes.

3 WHEREAS, Tim Cooper was born in Gallatin, , in 1957, and grew up on a dairy 4 farm raising tobacco and cattle; and

5 WHEREAS, Tim is the youngest of five children and was involved in the Boy Scouts of 6 America, church activities, the 4-H Club, and football while he was growing up; and

7 WHEREAS, Tim was a Life Scout as a boy and has two Eagle Scout brothers and three 8 Eagle Scout nephews; and

9 WHEREAS, Tim received his Associates Degree in Communications from Volunteer State 10 Community College in 1977 and he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast 11 Communications from the University of Tennessee in 1980; and

12 WHEREAS, Tim became a professional scouter in 1980 with the 13 in Nashville, Tennessee; and

14 WHEREAS, Tim has served as the Scout Executive of the Northeast Georgia Council, which 15 serves 26 counties in northeast Georgia, since June 5, 1993; and

16 WHEREAS, Tim is married to the former Nancy Rives of Montgomery, Alabama and they 17 reside in Athens, Georgia and are members of the First Baptist Church; and

18 WHEREAS, Tim and Nancy are the proud parents of three daughters, Camille, born in 1995; 19 Lily, born in 1998; and Phoebe, born in 2001.

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that 2 the members of this body commend Tim Cooper upon his tremendous accomplishments as 3 a role model for the young men involved in scouting and extend their sincerest best wishes 4 for his continued success in the future.

5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized 6 and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Tim Cooper.
