DON'T TELL SOPHIA was forced in by VALIANT EMILIA (PER) leaving the gate, bumped with STANWYCK soon after, dropped back off the early pace and settled nicely, was maneuvered to the outside leaving the far turn to commence her run, circled five wide rallying into the lane and kept on gamely to nab the place at the wire. IOTAPA prompted the pace outside TIZ MIDNIGHT, moved to command under a light hold after six furlongs, met the bid of the winner when being let out approaching the stretch, shied from that one's whip near the three sixteenth's marker, recovered to duel to the sixteenth pole, gave way grudgingly and was nailed on the wire for second money. RIA ANTONIA , three wide the first turn, dropped to the rail leaving the three quarter pole, moved up within herself with a half to go, waited briefly around the far turn, was guided off the rail to give hard chase into the lane but came up empty in the final furlong. UNBRIDLED FOREVER saved ground under early rating, made a nice rail move passing the three eighths pole, altered out in mid stretch and kept on with interest. TIZ MIDNIGHT grabbed command soon after the break, took outside pressure while setting the pace in the two path, was overtaken after six furlongs, remained a presence under pressure to the quarter pole then gave way. STANWYCK , bumped at the break, settled off the pace, circled four wide into the lane but lacked a rally. VALIANT EMILIA (PER) leaned in at the break, straightened and stalked the early pace between rivals, came under pressure nearing the far turn and weakened. BELLE GALLANTEY saved ground early, angled out for the backstretch run, appeared to want to lug in a bit while between horses nearing the far turn then retreated. L'AMOUR DE MA VIE broke awkwardly, recovered and tugged her way forward behind the pacesetters, tracked between foes near the half mile marker, came under pressure soon after, failed to go on and dropped back. CLOSE HATCHES , four wide the first turn, dropped in a bit and stalked three wide into the far turn, failed to respond when asked past the five sixteenths marker and faltered. 2nd Place horse sold through Keeneland Association, Inc. Last year also marked a bittersweet landmark for one of the great sires of our time. While reaching 17 Grade 1 winners over his historic career in 2013, Unbridled’s Song passed away at the age of 20. Every person at Taylor Made has been touched by this amazing animal over the years. He leaves a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten across the industry he served so well. And yet there is much to look forward to in 2014. The legacy continues with our newest stallion, Graydar, the Grade 1-winning son of Unbridled’s Song.
