2009 - 10 USC Women’s Basketball Media Guide 2009 - 10 USC Women’s Basketball Media Guide •• 134135 •• • 135 • Galen Center NEW Home of the Women of Troy GALEN CENTER

3400 S. Figueroa Los Angeles, CA 90089-2360

ne hundred and twenty-seven years ago, USC founders envisioned an oncampus arena to further unify the Trojan community. In 2006, that Odream became a reality with the opening of the Galen Center — new home to Troy’s basketball and volleyball programs.

The center puts the Trojan teams on an appropriately impressive stage, allowing USC squads to strut their stuff in a 255,000 square-foot arena with 10,258 seats, and utilize new locker rooms for home and visitors as well as a weight room and medical training room. An attached 45,000 square-foot pavilion will contain additional practice room with three courts — along with space for coaches and administrative offices.

Galen also houses the Athletic Department Hall of Fame as well as function rooms, a ticket office, concession stands and merchandise stores for visitors to the new complex.

Built with the entire community in mind, the Galen Center opens its doors to youth and high school sporting events when the Trojans aren’t on centercourt. Still, athletics aren’t the only events to touch down at the Galen Center, however. GALEN CENTER Women’s Basketball Seating The venue also plays host to concerts, commencement ceremonies, community events, lectures, meetings, shows, pageants and more.
