NORTHERN USA & CANADA Including Calgary Stampede ABN 55 793 549 610 Swagman Tours Level 1, 182 Latrobe Tce (PO Box 7473) Geelong West VIC 3218 P: 1800 808 491 W: www.swagmantours.com.au E: [email protected] 2018 FARMING TOUR & AUSTRALIAN DESTINATIONS Aug 17 Dear Passengers, We hope everyone is having a very successful 2017, it’s hard to believe the year is over halfway gone already! We have been busy finalising our program for next year and have some great tours on offer for 2018. The decision has been made to reduce the duration of our farming tours - we are finding from passenger feedback the length of the tours is quite tiring for most and along with this we will cost the trips on lower passenger numbers with the aim of sending more departures away. The destinations we have scheduled for farming tours in 2018 are Northern USA & Canada including the Calgary Stampede, India, China including a Yangtze River cruise, New Zealand and the spectacular Top End & Kimberley region. We are pleased to promote some great Australian itineraries for 2018 – in particular a diverse 4WD touring program where both seats in Swagman vehicles are available along with a Tag Along option for those who prefer to drive their own 4WD. After the popularity of this year’s Canning Stock Route & Gunbarrel Highway tour we will be scheduling this once again, along with a Great Victoria Desert tour – Beadell’s Tracks – along the Anne Beadell & Connie Sue Highways, the Nullabor Plain & Googs Track. Also on the agenda is the Simpson Desert crossing. Our Australian accommodated tours will include the iconic Kimberley, but with a changed itinerary to incorporate Mitchell Falls & Plateau and Bell Gorge for a more authentic Kimberley experience. We are happy to introduce our first ever Cape York accommodated tour - join us in Cairns on this wonderful journey to the tip! Also on the agenda is a Footsteps of Burke & Wills tour from Melbourne to Cairns, a new Gulf Savannah itinerary from Cairns to Darwin staying at the breathtaking Lorella Springs Wilderness Park and a West Coast Wildflowers from Broome to Perth. For those of you who have been on Australian tours be it farming or sightseeing, we are very pleased to announce Paul Pincini and his wife Lizzie will be on board once again in 2018 and they have recently purchased an off road vehicle which will be used for the Aussie program which has a maximum of 17 seats, so small group departures are guaranteed! This allows a more enjoyable experience touring “off the beaten track”. If you would like any further information or an itinerary for any of these trips we have on offer please phone our toll free number 1800 808 491 or email [email protected] Here’s wishing you all a safe and happy remainder of the year and we look forward to taking you away in 2018. If all goes well we will only be back here in 18 month or so. Due to the usual delays with last minute shopping, filling up all tanks and jerry cans (of course one of the four new jerry cans was leaking and had to be exchanged!) we only manage to leave in the late afternoon. In addition Susi has to see a doctor to ensure the sore throat she has is just a cold and not some nasty bug. Perfect time to be sick! So Heidi and Peter drive ahead to Boyagin Rock near Brookton where we will join them later on. They will prepare dinner so when we arrive we can just eat and Susi can go straight to bed. All goes well at the doctors and soon after we are on the Brookton Highway leaving Perth behind us. Strange feeling not to come back for such a long time. We reach Boyagin Rock shortly after nightfall. As we get organised Peter calls out that there are animals close to the camper.
