Peoria starter Jason Adam (KC) tossed 4.0 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits with three as the Javelinas beat Surprise. 3. Scottsdale teammates and New York Yankees’ farmhands Mason Williams and Addison Maruszak tallied three hits each in defeat last night. 4. Glendale LF Brent Keys (MIA) extended his league-best hitting streak to 15 games in the Desert Dogs’ loss at Mesa yesterday. 5. Peoria SS Orlando Calixte (KC) hit one of three home runs in the Javelinas ’ win yesterday, a three-run shot in the fourth inning.

2013 Tidbits  Ten of the 18 (55%) Gold Glove winners are Arizona Fall League alums. The seven American League winners are LF Alex Gordon (2005), SS J.J. Hardy (2002), 1B Eric Hosmer (2010), CF Adam Jones (2005), 2B Dustin Pedoria (2004), C Salvador Perez (2010) and RF Shane Victorino (2002). The three winners are 3B Nolan Arenado (2011 MVP), 2B Brandon Philips (2001-02) and SP (2004).  A total of 99 Arizona Fall League alumni graced the rosters of the eight teams in the divisional round of the MLB playoffs, representing nearly 50 percent of the 200 players on division series rosters. Leading the way was the who had 17 former Fall Leaguers on their 25-man roster for the NLDS.  Since 1992, the year the Arizona Fall League was founded, 13 of the 22 No. 1 overall picks in the MLB draft have played in the AFL.
