The New Airport Complex of Bamrauli Airport has been developed by the Airports

Authority of India, at a cost of Rs.164 Crores. Bamrauli Airport belongs to the Indian Air

Force and AAI maintains a Civil Enclave there. The previous Civil Enclave had an area of 0.8 acres with constrained operations through a small Terminal Building. There was no scope for expansion of the terminal building at the present location. Hence, a New Airport

Complex with modern terminal building has been constructed. Government of Uttar

Pradesh has acquired and handed over 50 acres of land to the Airports Authority of India for development of the New Airport Complex.

The New Passenger Terminal Building, a centrally air-conditioned building, with an area of 6700 sq.m. has been planned to handle 300 peak hour passengers at a time. The terminal building is equipped with all essential passenger-friendly amenities and provided with CUTE-enabled Check-in-Counters, Baggage Conveyors, Elevator, Public Address

System, Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm System, Flight information Display System (FIDS),

CCTV, Baggage Scanners and Car Parking for 200 cars and Reserved Parking for 20 cars.

Bamrauli Airport was connected to Delhi and in the past, but the air connection was intermittent in nature. After the launch of UDAN Scheme, connectivity to other important cities of India from Prayagraj got the required boost. The Airport handled 46,490 passengers during the year 2017-18. Operating airlines under UDAN Scheme have ambitious plans to connect the airport with Mumbai, Bengaluru, Indore, Lucknow, Patna,

Nagpur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Gorakhpur, Kolkata, Pune and Raipur in the months to come.
