A – Etymology (origin) : ADONAI
ADONAI -- root word is “ADON” which means “MASTER”, “LORD”, “OWNER”, “RULER” -- In the Old Testament, “ADON” can refer to men and angels as well as to the LORD God of Israel . It is a title of those who have the power of life and death over others.
-- ADONAI is the plural form of ADON. -- The plural form , ADONAI, is used when referring to YHWH the God of the Hebrews . -- It is said that scribes add vowel mark/s to the word YHVH so the reader would say either Elohim or Adonai during prayers so it would not be repetitious.
B – First Use of ADONAI: Gen 15:2
Genesis 15 After these things the word of the Lord (YHWH) came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.” 2 But Abram said, “O Lord (ADONAI) God (YHWH), what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

Deuteronomy 10:17 For the LORD (YHVH) your God (ELOHIM) is the God (ELOHIM) of gods (ELOHIM) and Lord (ADONAI) of lords (ADONAI) , the great, mighty, and awesome God (EL)
*Notes – The bracketed name of God (--) is the word in Hebrew
-- ( YHVH – Yahweh or Jehovah meaning SELF EXISTENT, ETERNAL GOD. God does not need us. He doesn’t need anyone. He is completely whole within himself, and he is eternal--he has always existed, and he always will. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega)
-- ( ELOHIM -- means “SUPREME ONE” or “MIGHTY ONE” )
-- ( ADONAI – firm and strong lord or master. )
-- ( EL – name for a god )

KYRIOS — means master, lord, owner, ruler, supreme in authority — used for both GOD and man
CONSIDER ROMANS 10:9
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord (KYRIOS) and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
CONSIDER ROMANS 3:23-24
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
