INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background Increased use of public transportation services is an effective means of achieving sustainable transportation in cities around the world. To increase the use of public transportation under resource constraints, it is important to improve the understanding of public transportation supply characteristics and demand behavior and make use of this understanding to improve service planning, design, and operations functions. Analyzing and interpreting in situ public transportation conditions that are readily accessible and observable can greatly improve this understanding. Project investigators previously worked with The Ohio State University (OSU) Campus Area Bus Service (CABS) and a private technology provider to equip the CABS network with state-of-the-art sensing, communications, and passenger information systems that are presently used to provide real-time bus arrival information to CABS users and ridership and location information to CABS operators and planners. In addition to being used for service planning, design, and operations, automatic vehicle location (AVL) and automatic passenger count (APC) data are downloaded nightly and archived by project investigators. The investigators couple these high-resolution and extensive data with manually collected field data (using a variety of techniques) and data obtained from web-based surveys for research, education, and outreach. The physical and data infrastructure and the strong partnership between service providers and project investigators, which developed over many years, have led to the establishment of the OSU Campus Transit Lab (CTL), a unique living lab that supports multiple internally and externally funded activities (CTL, 2017). This project is devoted to continued general data collection and targeted outreach, research, and educational activities designed to take advantage of existing CTL infrastructure and to sustain and to expand the infrastructure. 1.2 Data Acquisition The CTL investigators continued regular manual and automatic data collection to form databases for present and future research, outreach, and educational activities.     October 10, 2013 Craig Rafferty, FAIA Chair, Jury of Fellows The American Institute of Architects 1735 New York Avenue, NW Washington, DC 2006-5292 RE: Timothy Hawk., AIA Object 3 – Led the Institute Dear Mr. Rafferty: I have the honor of sponsoring Timothy Hawk, AIA, for elevation to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects for his leadership of the Institute. I have known Tim for over 15 years. When I think of Tim, his energy and passion for making the Institute better comes to mind. Through his leadership and tireless effort he has effected change for the better for our organization. Nationally as the Chair of the Interior Architecture Committee he changed the focus to collaboration and sharing of knowledge among interior architects and the interior design community to strengthen design. As a national model he led the efforts to establish a design center as the forum for AIA Columbus to promote local collaboration, knowledge and community outreach. He has shared this design center model to other mid-sized city chapters to help them invigorate their design communities. As a chapter leader, he increased member participation by 25% by refocusing the chapter on continuing education. He did this by restructured the educational programs around the Knowledge Communities to provide much needed sharing of specialized knowledge. His efforts have vastly increased the value provided to our members. In summary, Timothy Hawk has consistently exhibited the characteristics of national leadership and tireless contribution to our profession and to the long-term benefit of the profession, our clients and society. His vision, expertise and passion will be an important and irreplaceable asset to the College of Fellows and I strongly recommend Timothy for elevation to Fellow.

Interim Final Plan September 2011 A note to the reader This Interim Final Plan was produced to allow for approval and implementa- tion of individual recommendations of the Weinland Park Community Mobil- ity Plan. While some of the Plan’s recommendations can be implemented as soon as resources are allocated, other recommendations will require additional study to determine feasibility – specifically improvements recommended for N Fourth Street, Summit Street, and E Fifth Avenue. The City of Columbus is committed to providing facilities for pedestrians, cy- clists, and other modal users. City staff members are working toward develop- ing solutions that accommodate these users while providing acceptable levels of service to current and future automobile drivers, and satisfying ODOT’s geometric design standards. A forthcoming final version of the Weinland Park Community Mobility Plan will include the results of feasibility studies, pro- viding final recommendations for these corridors.
